I have a 2003 1.6 petrol 16 valve Golf Match and have been told that the crankcase ventilation PCV valve has failed causing the engine to "hunt" and the EPC and Engine Warning Lights to come on. VW say the part is no longer supplied since last June and there is no replacement. Looking at similar VW parts there's no exact match and no scrapyard seems to have the part (036103464AC). There are similar codes e.g. ending AB but Volkswagen say they are not compatible. Can anyone help as it seems madness to scrap a perfectly good car for the sake of a £40 plastic valve !
