Ian G Wilson Posted February 23, 2020 Share Posted February 23, 2020 VW Beetle 2004 2ltr petrol Had a sensor problem sensor identified using diagnostic unit Lambda sensor on catalytic convertor changed fault cleared and car ok for two days fault reappeared giving code for crank shaft car would not start.Sensor changed as well as timing belt fault cleared car ok for two days same fault appeared ECU removed and found to be wet sent for testing came back as ok put back into car fault cleared car again good for two days same fault back and car will not start anyone got a clue Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Volkswagen Owners Club Posted February 28, 2020 Share Posted February 28, 2020 Hi Ian. It seems that something that has been changed has either gone faulty or it is another fault to add to the list. It would be prudent to rescan the vehicle after clearing the fault code memory and also to measure components through a scan tool. e.g. if it has a spark and / or fuel injection is pulsing then it can't be a crank sensor issue.
