Hello to you all, Newbie here. My granddaughter has bought a 2016 Polo 1.2 and she has asked me to fix the Air con. The light comes on with the switch but there is no power going to the compressor, I would like to get a wiring diagram so I can check it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thank you

My Daughter has a 2018 Polo SE, recently the nav screen has started freezing and image jumping around. Is this a known problem or could it be a software issue ? Thanks

  4. Started by Theshed,

I'm fairly sure I've seen this on the Forum previously but can't find it now. We have a 2018 Polo and the washers have stopped working, fluid topped up. The handbook does not show fuse position and I can't see any diagram on the lids. Does anyone know which fuse it is or where I can find a clear diagram ?

  5. Started by Theshed,

Just about to refill the coolant on 2018 Polo 1.0L. According to Halfords it should be G40 then I spot on the expansion tank G13. Will G40 do ?

  6. I have a car as above. In periods of rain, when I open the rear passenger door, water gushes out! There is slight dampness inside on the floor-well in the corner close to door and seat. Any ideas?

  7. Started by Jeffers,

I've a 2021 GTi+ 19000 miles, coming up for 3 years old,so will need 1st MORT and a service. Could someone advise me what the service should consist of? I seem to find conflicting answers on the internet. It won't be at a VW garage by the way! Thank you. Jeff

  8. Started by Theshed,

Does anyone know coolant capacity of 1.0 L 2018 Polo. Handbook does not say, but is at pains to warn me not to overfill ! Also, the G40 coolant is available ready mixed from Halfords. Do I assume it has the required distilled water and does it really have to be distilled ? Thanks

I am trying to find a good free VIN Decoder without much success. One of them even told me the car was a Golf. Is there someone out there who knows of a good one and maybe even run my vin number, WVWZZZAWZLU050278, through it. 🙂 Thanks

  11. Hi all, I suspect that the Vivo is not for sale in the UK but please read on just in case.... Long story short, some moron (i.e. me) tried to clean some old adhesive off this plastic panel using (acetone free) nail polish remover. It has obviously ruined the plastic on this panel as you can see in the attached image - It looks worse in real life! My question is whether this panel (not the light switch) is a replaceable / removable part and if not - any suggestions on how to make this look less terrible? e.g. sanding it down, some kind of lacquer.... I am pretty clueless with this kind of thing. Thanks in advance, DL

  12. Mk5 1.2 3 cyl 60bph car starts fine when engine cold. After driving refuses to start it just keeps cranking. changed all spark plugs, all coil packs, engine loom wiring harness and starter motor. Problem still persists. any idea what this could be? Thanks

  13. Hey, my girlfriend recently got a new clutch done on her 2012 polo, and it has started making a clunking/ grinding noise when the clutch pedal is not engaged and the noise stops when the clutch pedal is engaged, i was thinking that it could be a input bearing in the gearbox(more then likely wrong) or the mechanic installed the clutch disc or flywheel incorrectly and didn't use an adjustment tool. Just posting if anyone has any ideas, thanks

I helping a friend with a problem with his carburettor on this Polo, its the 1050 engine 40 hp, it seems the rubber gasket under the carburettor is now leaking air, as we cannot get the engine to idle, it just dies. If I press down on the carb it will idle, so must be an air leak. I'm also looking a manual for setting up this carburettor, or the settings/adjustments its a Pierburg. There appears to be an adjusting screw where a vacuum line comes from the vacuum pipe to the brake servo, any help here would be useful please. Whats its purpose? Is it an anti run on devise? John

  17. Started by count,

So looking for a first car for my daughter, 1.2 Polo seems like a good option, was thinking 2010 - 2014 tops. So I stumbled across not one but many autotrader listings with "Japanese Imports" and "no service history? Reading a few online articles, they and the dealers all state that in Japan, the standards are a lot higher in terms of how people care for vehicles and mileage is low? Hence why I see 2012s having around 40-55k milage? My concern is that I have no service history? Safety? How do I know if it was actually in an accident? Then other concerns? Or am I over worrying? Anyone have any advice?

There are two indents on the dipstick at about 1 and 3 cm's then a plastic 'pip' about 5Cm further up. Car isn't here to photograph so attached is my best Take Hart attempt ! PoloDipstick.pdf

My daughter has a 68 plate VW Polo, very low milage. Yesterday she was driving with three friends in the car, when for no reason the driver assist caused the car to do an emergency stop and locked the wheels. They were on a straight road, doing less than 30mph, there was nothing in front of them and luckily, nothing behind. If there had been a car behind it would have undoubtedly caused an accident. VW have said they will do a diagnostic test for £140. I think this is unreasonable as their cars obviously have a dangerous defect, which they should have a recall on. Further reading online shows that there have been many identical incidents. I'm currently talking to som…

  22. I own a VW Gol, assembled in Brazil. I get a hyperflasher on the dash because my back left LED Turn light has gone off. Twice I have checked in at the dealer but when the back-light unit is taken out and refitted, the problem seem to go away for a while and the resurfaces.

Hi VW club, I'm currently experiencing a clunking/rattling noise coming from the rear of my VW polo. Below are two images of each rear side. Would this be the reason for the noise? Any help would be appreciated. 24. Started by Irene,

Can anyone explain why my 65 plate polo has just this winter started having really thick condensation inside the windscreen, so much so that I have to use a windier cleaners squeegee whenever I want to go anywhere. Plus that fact it’s been freezing inside this past week?

  25. Started by Andy willo,

Can I replace my 14" wheels with 17" wheels? on my 2002 polo.
