I'm the proud owner of a 10 plated 1.9i automatic but I've an issue I need to address. When I start her up I have to put it into reverse and draw back a cpl off feet then put into drive where I have to wait for it to "bump" forward!!! What could be the issue and how could I fix said issue. Thanks in advance.

Hello, Last year I bought an '04 Sharan with just 24k on the clock(yeah, crazy). A few urgent issues that needed to be sorted and now done(new oil pump, coolant leak), so she's running smoothly now(touchwood!) On last service, 2 things came up that will require work sooner rather than later, one of them corroded door sills. I'd like to get a quote on it. Can anyone recommend someone to do the work please? I've replaced my 07 Alhambra Nav head unit with a £50 Android unit. This works brilliantly but I am now without heated seats or windscreens. ESP cancel also not functioning. I have two plugs which went into the back of the old nav unit. One is a yellow/blue/green block. The other is grey with blue locking clip. The Android unit has no sockets for these, only the black and brown connectors. Any suggestions? As far as I know the old unit did not control these items. How are they interlinked and can it be bypassed? Any help much appreciated. Dave

Hi All, Please, can anybody give me a piece of advice, what I can do with a broken front spring in an old MK1 sport version. I have tried numerous car parts shops, nobody has the coil spring, everybody point me to the VW dealership for replacement. I have called them £225 each, need a pair. So without labour £450 just the part. The spring has a colour code, 1 WHITE 1 YELLOW 1 BLUE. It is factory lowered kit, around 30 mm, this is what I was told. Is there any alternative solution? I saw lowering kit from 250 pound with 4 spring kit that is 30 mm as well, what If I buy something like that? Any breaker who might have this part? Any advice…

Drivers door interior door assembly loose, moves up and down, any ideas on what secures it, diagram would be useful

I have a 2010 sharan which has the old version of the adblue system. A while ago when I drove 30 miles or so a light came on, I had it fault read & it said addictive tank empty so I had it filled up, the light is continuing to come on despite the tank bring full & now it comes on after 9 or so miles. Do any of you know what might be the problem? thanks

I have just got the other half a 2012 vw sharan. We did have a 2001 Ford galaxy ( vw sharan / seat Alhambra) vw 17" skoda Octavia vrs alloys with a et54. I've looked at 17's for the sharan but says et39. My question is will the et54 fit fine or stick out to far?

Hi everyone, I am thinking of buying a 2014 model which has sports seats (SEL Tech ). What does that mean exactly, are they firmer than normal seats? Do they have lumber support adjustment? Also how do you know if the car has adaptive suspension? Thanks for any advice on these subjects or anything useful to know before I buy.

My 60 reg Sharan has been back and forwards to the garage, the Adblu pump then heater were diagnosed as the issue….is my heater covered under the emissions warranty? Can anyone help?

I have an issue, or think i might have.. I bought a 2015 Sharan Bluemotion a year ago. 74K miles, done 82k miles now. I have never added Adblue to the car yet and never had any warning either till now. Can the warning be turned off, wondering if this was done at some point. Any ideas..?

I am looking for an airbag squib with part number 95VW14A664AA for the 1998 Sharan petrol 1.8T 20v. Tried all the usual places and eBay. Found a part in Lithuania which when fitted activated the horn. Clearly not desirable. Vehicle okay otherwise. Any tips?

Hi all, New to this forum so apologies if this has been asked before. Just purchased a 2016 Sharan 150 Nav. Tried to connect my phone to use the Appleplay feature through App-Connect only to find out it needs an activation code from my local VW dealer. I phoned them and was told it would cost £250 for this code which seems to be quite an expensive option. Does this sound about right? Has anyone managed to do this without having to use a main dealer? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I'm currently selling my Sharan - it's on Auto Trader and Gumtree, and all I've had is a tonne of absolute chancers - tyre kickers and rude offers! So my question is: is there anywhere better than Auto Trader and Gumtree? Or are the chancers, time wasters and tyre kickers just a fact of life that I need to get over? Any tips greatly welcomed! Evening all Has anyone upgraded the brakes on their Sharan? Does the Sharan carry over the same hubs as any other VAG stuff? I'm looking at using bigger brakes off of something within the same group rather than going for something like a big brake kit from an aftermarket manufacturer. Cheers

The central locking on my Sharan 04 plate has stopped working. The drivers door is stuck in the locked position while all other doors will not lock with the fob. Meanwhile the mechanism sounds like its whirring and the hazard lights flash continually. I am having to disconnect the battery so it doesn't drain, and also so that the car is disabled considering I cannot lock it securely. Any ideas as to the root if this problem please?

Hi I have a 2015 2.0 TD Sharan with 84k miles on the clock, I have an intermittent clunking noise coming from the front of the car which I thought was related to steering/ suspension. Garage has checked it out twice and can’t find anything wrong. Realised today the clunking noise is when I change gear (manual) and the clutch engages Anyone have any idea what is causing so I can give the garage some pointers? thanks

Hi, I’m trying to fit an aftermarket stereo in my 2006 Sharan, but I can find the correct harness for my car. Halfords have one for a VW but the pins do not correspond with the iso in my car. Has anyone had this experience? Or found a harness that works? thanks.

My daughter has a 2013 Sharan ( this is her second Sharan ) and she has encountered a problem with diesel fumes in the car and depending on the weather these can be just about tolerable to intolerable. She was advised to have the ERG valve repaired which she did and the problem seemed to go away only to return in recent times. My questions are, is this problem related the the valve entirely, how much is the cost and replacement of a new one !. It is serious to the point where she wants to change the vehicle entirely when perhaps a change of valve may sort out the problem. Any advice or input is very welcome. Thank you.

Hi I am a new member to this site and require some help on a DRL light issue. I have replaced the DRL bulb on the right hand side of my 2014 Sharan, and all worked well. I now have an issue with the bulb not working, dashboard warning and left side working OK. I have checked the bulb and all is OK, I have cleaned the connectors and still cannot get working. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the fix ? Could you please help, Thanks in advance

Hi well loved 2005 VW sharan 1.9 TDi, was driving fine, parked up at shops, came back and no lights or dials on dash when I turn the key except door open light, and won’t fire, turns over no problem. Towed back to house, checked battery, checked fuses, new relay 109 still no joy!!! Seams like no ECU com/no fuel pump? Could it be the immobiliser? Tried disconnecting battery and shorting red and black wires still nothing. Now the alarm goes off when I reattach the battery!! Anyone else had this or know what the problem might be???? Please help 😢

Hello everyone. I am very puzzled right now with my 2012 VW Sharan 1.4TSI. My wife and I were driving home on Sunday evening along the M4 and all of a sudden I got the EPC light come up and the car lost all drive. I gradually rolled to a stop (thankfully in an SOS layby as the stretch I was on had no hard shoulder.) When we reached a stop, the engine cut out, and wouldn’t restart, or at least it would restart for about a second and then immediately die. During the 13 hour process between breaking down and being recovered to our nearest VW specialist garage and then home (thanks for nothing AA - that’s a whole other story) between the highways agency recovery driver, the A…

Dropped the engine under-tray today to change the engine oil and filter and noticed a slight oil leak coming from the small end cap just below the gearbox filler. Does anyone know if this cap can be replaced externally or will it involve being fitted from inside the gearbox which means a strip down. 2016 2.0Ltr Tdi 6 speed manual NFZ box Thanks in advance.

I have just been to see a 2014 sharan I’m wanting to purchase but oddly the heating only seemed to warm up on the drivers side, was so odd, and the ones in the back above doors were also not getting warm? Anyone know what this could be and if it’s expensive to fix? Many thanks
