2014 Golf R - Should I wait and get the new Golf R or a GTI with Performance Pack?

 

I haven't not been able to establish when exactly the new Golf R will be available to buy in the UK, but wonder if the GTI is a better bet?  Will the new Golf R be as good looking as the GTI?  Any advice / information welcome.

I would personally wait for the new Golf R as judging from its latest shots, it looks stunning and it is expected to be the last of the new Golf models, at least for some time.
