Hello, 

So today i broke down in my 2003 1.4 mark 4 golf the vehicle lost power and since then the engine would not turn over. Upon inspection i found a toothed belt has shredded yet the belt that drives the cams is still in good condition and intact. 

 

I will attempt to replace this belt myself providing i dont have to have the engine retimed or however best to explain. 

 

Appreciate any potential help
