Hello, is there anyone out there that could point me in the right direction for purchasing some parts for this car online? Seems to be very difficult to source anything other than service / maintenance parts for my car here in New Zealand and I'm hoping there's a better supply in the UK! Have a mk7 Golf and the stop start engages whilst travelling at 40mph and even when it's switched off. Local VW garages says it doesn't show as a fault when it's plugged in, consequently there's nothing they can do, really? Anybody else had this, thanks

Hi all...new member..new golf owner. I have 2014 Golf 1.6 tdi 25000 miles. Have noticed when turning left only a noise which I can only describe as change in engine note..or some other mechanical noise .bizarre I know. Noticed on a particular bend near home..as I straighten noise goes. Also at low speed say in a car park I can hear it. Steers fine...no vibration...right turns no symptoms. Could it be the power steering ...handles fine. Seeing dealer on Saturday but not sure they will believe me! I would be interested in views...no obvious damage. Full range of steering. In warranty which hopefully will be honored. Thanks all....

hi ,just need some info on undoing camshaft pulley wheel nut on mk2 golf gtd can i use the flat locking plate that slots in end of camshaft while i do it or would it damage anything,thanks

I can't find any roof bars for my mk8 Golf ? I assumed i could just buy the Thule fitting kit for my Areo bars but non exist. I've tried a set for the mk7.5 but they are miles off. Anyone got any ideas?

I’ve purchased a 2023/2024 Model year Golf 1.5 TSI (150) with a manual gearbox and I’m having issues when changing gears (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd). I’m experiencing a hesitation in the response from the engine when I’m in the process of changing up and releasing the clutch. I’m having to reactivate the clutch until the engine responds which is resulting in a very jerky not smooth gear change. I’m aware from carrying out some research that this has been an ongoing issue with the 1.5 TSI Evo engine from when it was introduced in the Golf 7 especially with the manual gearbox. The passenger handle to adjust the seat height keeps falling off. From what I can see nothing is broken. It pushes back on but never really grips. Has anybody else had this?

2016 1.2 TSI Golf 30,000 miles...EPC light intermittently on dash within first 2 weeks of owning this car, back to garage, turns out the turbo actuator needed replaced..quite surprised at this for such a low mileage car and it's got me wondering if I'm in for persistent problems down the line and should hand this car back?? Hi I have a 2007 VW golf plus with 120000 miles on the clock. The clutch pedal is on the floor. I can pull it back up and it seems its OK. I can place it in gear and it starts to drive. Then the problem re occurs when I press the pedal it stays down and it won't disengage. Is it a master or slave cylinder problem. Any help or advice would help. Thanks Michael

Hi all just joined up to see if owners alike are experiencing any similar issues or have any suggestions. A few months ago I bought a 2021 VW Golf R-Line Estate. I love it apart from one issue which is brake squeal from the front brakes. This always happens after driving for about 5 minutes and only when light braking. Its very annoying! The noise occurred on the original VW standard disc and pad set which were only 50% worn (car has only done 23K). I have changed the discs, pads and the 8 metal calliper shims for genuine VW parts. I have also cleaned/ wire brushed/ re-greased the brake calliper and slide pins but the squealing noise still happens (new pads…

Hello, I have a problem with my 2006 vw golf mk5 1.4 TSI engine. EPC and check engine controls lit up on my dashboard, VCDC fault code 000802 - engine speed sensor g28. Where can I find the sensor in my engine? I have read that it is located somewhere around the supercharger, do I need to take it off or is it located somewhere else? Thanks

The headlamps (Bi-Xenon type) on my VW Golf Mark 7 work fine but the lenses are extremely faded and scratched. I have attempted restoring them but not successful. A number of on-line stores (EBay, Amazon etc) list replacement lenses for sale and I would like to try using these before I resort to buying complete (and expensive) headlamp units. I know the lenses are sealed into the headlamp body using butyl sealant and have viewed a couple of YouTube videos which demonstrate how to remove/replace lenses by heating the complete headlamp unit in an oven to soften the seal. Can anyone provide their experience (good and bad!) of doing this on a Golf Mk7 and any tips? Tx

Hi, I have a 2009 Golf V 2.0 TDI and need to change the starter motor. How do I prevent losing all the codes when I have to disconnect the battery? I don't have a plug-in diagnostic reader to reset anything and wouldn't know how to use one. If I lose the codes how do I find out what they were or is there a default setting? As you can tell I don't have any knowledge about codes as my mechanical skills are centred around vehicles from the 60s to the 80s. Thanks in advance for any advice. Rupert
