Evening Folks I have recently put in an order for the new Golf GTE. I am in the process of getting a charging station fitted. I have been recommended to fit a BG SYNC EV station, with the WiFi turned off. This would be due to a poor signal where I am. Is it possible to start and stop charge times from the car, so I can use night tariffs? Any help, would be much appreciated. Dave

Hi guys My company - Fault Free - are hosting discounted remapping weekends, starting on 8th and 9th November at our Birmingham contact centre. We usually charge £200 but will be charging £75 on these discounted days for power and economy remaps. Considering egr+dpf delete and stage 1 remap on mk6 golf 1.6 tdi cr got 167k on clock still going strong. Is it advisable at that mileage

Any advice welcome. As I said in title I have just done the head gasket on my golf, all the timing marks line up I turned it over by hand to make sure it was not banging against the valves all good. All the marks still line up all the elec sockets back on and the ht leads are in the same order as they came off ie shortest to the closest ect. When I turn it over it dose fire sometimes but dose not start. The only thing I can see that might cause a problem is on the right hand side of the cam cover is a little bracket with what looks like a earth strap comming of it. Well the other end is not attached to anything, I can't remember taking it off when I stripped it down weat…

Hi all. New to this club so hello and thanks for being here. We just bought a 2012 VW Golf 1.6 Tdi, 60,000 miles. Lovely car drives well. The guy that services my VW vans had a look at it today, says it's breathing far too much from the oil filler, if you remove it. He reckons it's rings or maybe piston. It certainly does puff well at tickover with the cap partly removed, bit of smoke too. Is he right or do they all do this??? Blocked breather maybe? Thanks anyway and hello again

Hey, hope everyone is good. I'm having intermittent issues with the headunit in my 2015 Mk7 Golf GTD. The headunit will start, but it seems "disconnected" from the MFD or other buttons like on the dash. Sometimes after a short period of time it'll come online and be fine. When it doesn't boot properly bluetooth doesnt work. It states "turn ignition on" even though the engine is running. Any ideas? 20200520_180816.mp4

Hello, I need help! I’m after a resonator delete kit for my golf R mk6. I can only seem to find them for mk7’s. Does the mk6 have a resonator? If not, what’s a good alternative for more grunt. Regards.

My son's beloved mk2 Golf GTI 16V has been stolen! Please keep your eyes peeled! It had a custom stainless steel exhaust from TGS (Top Gear Stockport) Black alloy wheels with red beading pro sport coil overs. It’s in Helios Blue Reg F200OYP Stolen from Salford on August 20th 2023. It has a couple of distinctive stickers on the boot. 2006 golf tsi 1.4. Gearbox is HYG. I’ve found a kvv gearbox fairly local from a 1.4 tsi 08. Is there an difference would anybody know. Thanks in advance. Andrew.

Hi I have a 2007 VW golf plus with 120000 miles on the clock. The clutch pedal is on the floor. I can pull it back up and it seems its OK. I can place it in gear and it starts to drive. Then the problem re occurs when I press the pedal it stays down and it won't disengage. Is it a master or slave cylinder problem. Any help or advice would help. Thanks Michael

Hello, I have a problem with my 2006 vw golf mk5 1.4 TSI engine. EPC and check engine controls lit up on my dashboard, VCDC fault code 000802 - engine speed sensor g28. Where can I find the sensor in my engine? I have read that it is located somewhere around the supercharger, do I need to take it off or is it located somewhere else? Thanks

The headlamps (Bi-Xenon type) on my VW Golf Mark 7 work fine but the lenses are extremely faded and scratched. I have attempted restoring them but not successful. A number of on-line stores (EBay, Amazon etc) list replacement lenses for sale and I would like to try using these before I resort to buying complete (and expensive) headlamp units. I know the lenses are sealed into the headlamp body using butyl sealant and have viewed a couple of YouTube videos which demonstrate how to remove/replace lenses by heating the complete headlamp unit in an oven to soften the seal. Can anyone provide their experience (good and bad!) of doing this on a Golf Mk7 and any tips? Tx

Hi all, just looking for some directions on what I can try next, grateful for help. My passenger brake doesn't come on when I depress the brake, and the yellow warning light shows to confirm it. I've changed the bulb, difference. The indicator light comes on so I assume that means the cluster is ok? Is there a fuse or some trouble shooting I could take to try and narrow the problem down?
