Hello, is there anyone out there that could point me in the right direction for purchasing some parts for this car online? Seems to be very difficult to source anything other than service / maintenance parts for my car here in New Zealand and I'm hoping there's a better supply in the UK! Advise / suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I don't know if anyone knows why my front wheels locked on my Golf? Drove to work fine, then tried to drive away in the evening and the front wheels are completely locked up. It goes into gear fine, and the will move an inch in reverse before stalling. There is fluid leakage, possibly gearbox? Any advice appreciated. Mechanic at garage wants to replace the entire gearbox. Thanks in advance

Hi to everybody, I need some help please. My ignition barrel broke and the "mechanic" as changed the barrel the cluster the bcm the ECU and the gateway modules but the abs lights flash. The car drives as it should but I am unsure how to sort the abs problem. I do have the original modules but fear the mechanic as made a major problem as he did not change the abs module at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any advice.

  5. I’ve purchased a 2023/2024 Model year Golf 1.5 TSI (150) with a manual gearbox and I’m having issues when changing gears (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd). I’m experiencing a hesitation in the response from the engine when I’m in the process of changing up and releasing the clutch. I’m having to reactivate the clutch until the engine responds which is resulting in a very jerky not smooth gear change. I’m aware from carrying out some research that this has been an ongoing issue with the 1.5 TSI Evo engine from when it was introduced in the Golf 7 especially with the manual gearbox. There are numerous articles on the web about this with customers referring to a juddering Kangoori…

I’ve just taken delivery of a 16 plate GTD on 19’ Santiagos. For me the car sits a little too high so a subtle lower is needed. How low should I go and what’s the best kit to use, I don’t want to slam it, just improve the stance.

The headlamps (Bi-Xenon type) on my VW Golf Mark 7 work fine but the lenses are extremely faded and scratched. I have attempted restoring them but not successful. A number of on-line stores (EBay, Amazon etc) list replacement lenses for sale and I would like to try using these before I resort to buying complete (and expensive) headlamp units. I know the lenses are sealed into the headlamp body using butyl sealant and have viewed a couple of YouTube videos which demonstrate how to remove/replace lenses by heating the complete headlamp unit in an oven to soften the seal. Can anyone provide their experience (good and bad!) of doing this on a Golf Mk7 and any tips? Tx

  8. Hello, I'm a newbie to the forums, and have a door lock issue with my Golf Mk6 4 door 2009 Golf. The right rear door with not lock with the fob. All the other doors lock ok and I can hear the click mechanism working for those doors. I can lock the door manually using the screw override turn on the door (using a flat head screwdriver or similar). Then when unlocking using the fob again, it unlocks all the 4 doors fine. I have tried some WD40 on the latch itself, but this has not helped (didn't expect it to really) There are no reported errors when checking the ECU for error codes. Is there anything else to try and diagnose the problem before going an…

  9. Hi all: my front lane assist camera on my vw golf GTD mk7.5 is faulty. I just bought a new one to replace it. Will it need coding when I install it? If so does anyone have the correct steps to do this using VCDS?

Hello, I have a problem with my 2006 vw golf mk5 1.4 TSI engine. EPC and check engine controls lit up on my dashboard, VCDC fault code 000802 - engine speed sensor g28. Where can I find the sensor in my engine? I have read that it is located somewhere around the supercharger, do I need to take it off or is it located somewhere else? Thanks

  20. Hi all, My car (mk4 pd150) recently had to have a new alternator, auxiliary belt, and battery after the old alternator died. My issue isn't wholly fixed as after this work the alternator warning light comes on when my car goes over 2k revs. The garage told me I would need to get an auto electrician to look at the issue as they can't do that sort of work. I called the electrician and he seemed pretty confident that the garage fitted the wrong alternator. I rang the garage up and they checked the part and they are confident that it is correct. I have the auto electrician looking at my car on Tuesday but wondered if anyone else has any idea what is going on or if…

  21. Hi all, just looking for some directions on what I can try next, grateful for help. My passenger brake doesn't come on when I depress the brake, and the yellow warning light shows to confirm it. I've changed the bulb, difference. The indicator light comes on so I assume that means the cluster is ok? Is there a fuse or some trouble shooting I could take to try and narrow the problem down? Thank you,

Hi there. Hope somebody can help and advise. Some lowlife smashed 5 windows in my golf estate. Have managed to get from the breakers yard all the side windows and fitted them. But having trouble locating the rear quarter glass, this is untitled. VW UK say they are an obsolete part. Have seen one for sale in Germany for £300 plus any import tax. Didn't want to spend that much on something that could get broken in transit. Any ideas? Thanks for reading. Cheers. Max Field

Hi, does anyone have experience of using these please? My brand new Golf got 'dinged' on its very first outing in a public car park and I don't want to have to keep getting a 'paintless repair' done each time this happens - as it surely will over time!
