  1. Hi All Newbie here…Thought I would share our experience so far of buying a 2017 VW Passat Estate (B8) R-Line 2.0 TSI (217bhp) / DSG, imported from Japan. The car is in immaculate condition and the 2.0 TSI petrol combined with the DSG is so smooth and powerful. The level of tech is luxury, full digital cockpit, full leather, fully electric/heated front seats (driver seat with memory function and massage function), reverse camera, lane assist, park assist, cruise control down to 0mph + restart in traffic, electric tailgate, blind spot detection, apple/android connection. We purchased from a company near Chester who specialise in parallel (unmodified)…

  2. We are looking for help for a continuing issue with our VW Passat GTE Hybrid 1.4 2021 reg. Since we have owned it, just 12 months, it has had a recurring issue with the Braking and has been into the dealership a few times to get it checked and every time it has been 'we cant find anything wrong'.I have several very close encounters with pedestrians and being unable to stop at low speed when the vehicle continues to drive/drag forward. Since May the vehicle has had the AA VW Assist out to check this braking problem and they found an intermittent fault with the braking system. The AA also diagnosed an issue with the Differential grinding. So it was taken into the VW dealer…

  4. Hi all, I am new to this forum so wanted to say Hi. Apologies if this issue has been discussed previously, I couldn't find it when searching. I recently purchased a 2017 diesel Passat Estate which has now showing faults nearly every time I start the car/ going slow in traffic / occassionally on the motorway (scary). The car will not start if these faults come up but If I turn the car off and turn it back on, it often works fine. The faults showing are: Error: Stop / Start Error: Stabilisation Control (ESC) Auto Hold is unavailable Front Assist unavailable Proactive passenger protection unavailable Error: Tyre pressure Loss Indicator Fault: elect…

VW Passat Estate 2015 - hi, Tyre pressure warning light came on my dash....Center console screen is showing no value for the front right tyre. Initially i assumed it would be sensor or it's battery has failed, but after getting 2 front tyres fitted....the guys checked with their TPMS Tool and said all sensors are good. Worth mentioning that the warning light flashes on start up then eventually goes solid. Diagnostic check shows faulty front right sensor (not communicating) Does anyone have any experience with this ? My thoughts are maybe it's a faulty receiver but why just 1 sensor not reporting back ? Any advise would be great.

Hi I have a 2.0 litre diesel 2018 plate with a DSG gear box. I had the mechatronic box replaced in Nov-23 and last year I started to notice it was occasionally "slipping" between 2nd and 3rd gears i.e. revving well over 2000 (it would normally changed 2nd to 3rd at about 2000 revs). Some times it would change automatically after the high revs, some times I would slow down and it would then change. I had never paid attention to the rev's before I had the fault that resulted in the new mechatronic (that was a complete failure with no warning, leaving me with just 2,4 and 6th gears). The "slipping" was very infrequent. I mentioned this to the independent VW/Audi specia…

Hi all - I’m new to the forum and grateful to have found you. I’m hoping to get some advice. Passenger door window on my 55 Reg B6 doesn’t move up or down. (securely stuck in up position) There is power to the motor from driver and passenger door switches as heard by the “click” when pressed. My suspicions are that it is the motor that is faulty and not anything to do with the tracking, cables or regulator. Question:- Can I replace the motor in its place without having to remove the whole metal panel and its components. Are there any risks to the window dropping / smashing if I remove the motor without securing the window first. Any other things I should lo…

Hi, I have a Passat B7 estate, blue motion. It has climate control, due side. Can anybody tell em how climate control works? When i set a temperate, say 22 degrees, will it adjust the total air temp to 22 in the cabin, or will it blow out air at that temperature. If the first option, would you expect if it was really hot in the car, left in the sun all day, and you set it to 22, it woudl be cool air blowing as the inside cabin temp is higher than 22, or would it still slow warm air at 22 degrees? Hope that makes sense

  10. Hi, I'm viewing a 2011 Passat with original VW media screens in the headrests. I've no experience of using these in any car and was wondering how they work. From the advert photos there seems to be a USB socket. Do you simply connect your smartphone to the unit using a USB cable and whatever you're watching on your smartphone (Netflix, Amazon etc) it is shown on the screens? Are they DVD compatible as well? Hopefully someone can help.

Hello All, Can't seem to find a definitive answer on this, looking at the brake rotor size on the rear, I come up with two sizes, 282 and 286, my model is a 2.0tdi DSG. Is there a difference to the sizing for the electric parking brake or? Any help would be greatly appreciated, should mention my rims are 16's

Hi, I am looking for some advice pretty urgently. I have a Passat CC 2.0 TDI DSG which I have owned for 2 years now, covered 30k miles so far. It was a business owned company car prior to my ownership so has full service history, main dealer and has had no expense spared. She's now sat at 200k and last week returning home I noticed a violent juddering coming from the front end when joining the motorway, it's never been there before. The DSG a few days before went 'bang' and flashed the spanner up, she has done this for a few months now but turning it on and off has resolved the issue. She's been plugged into…

Hi, I’m having trouble changing the reversing bulb on the boot lid of my 2014 vw Passat estate. I remove the whole unit. Can access and remove both the brake light and light bulbs, however I can’t access the reversing bulb. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thank you

  16. Having seen that water leaks are common on Passat's I have carried out the recommended actions on my 2004 car and cleaned out the drain hole and replaced the seal around the filter house. Next is to dry out the carpets. I am reluctant to disturb the CCM box as the only issue with the car is the central locking which only works with the manual door lock and the drivers door interior light is not working. Any suggestions please, can I make things worse by touching it and can the current faults be something else within the door CL system. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi folks, 2016 Passat Bluemotion owner. I’ve just recently purchased car and first time Adblue user. Issue: Using my steering wheel controls for car information such as fuel left in tank, oil temp, MPG etc, I also can scroll through and noted Adblue Range. I’ve driven car about 1000 miles since owning yet Adblue range never changes( still showing 6500 miles). Online YouTube’s videos are only showing a warning sign will appear counting down till car will no longer start and requires refilling. Should my Adblue range not show it reducing the more I drive or does it only show a warning when level is low? can anyone please help?

Hi, My parking pilot system is playing up. Sometimes it works, others it just beeps at me, the screen says its not available and the light indicator near the gear stick flashes. Its been to a garage today to check it out, and they've determined the front nearside sensor is faulty and needs replacing. Over £250 for the work! Had a look online and a sensor is around £15. So, does anybody have any info on how you get that faulty one out, new one in, and any other reset-electrical works i need to do to resovle this? Thanks in advance

My wife gave me a nail varnish remover pad which did the trick but cracked the covers badly within a minute!!! Can I just replace this p[art or do I have to go the whole 2K plus hog? (We are, surprisingly, still talking.)

Hi all. I have an 08 Passat TDI estate.I've had an advisory on last mot to get bushes replaced on front lower wishbones both NS and OS. Some mechanic said the bushes can be replaced on the wishbones, another guy today said the bushes can't be replaced and I have to replace the whole lower Wishbone minus the ball joints. Which is correct please? Also if the job is done would tracking be counted as part of the rectification after installation of new wishbones or would that be an additional charge? I've been quoted £300 to replace the lower wishbones. Many thanks. Ess

Hey All, So haven't had to visit here in a while and I now have a problem, which I'm sure is common as heck and ya'll will probably scold me for posting a new thread about it. So It's a p1261 code along with p1264, now the one ending 61 was there when I originally bought the car (scanned it after purchase I know dumb dumb) however it sounds sweet, and runs fine (until recently I'll get to that) the 64 one was there also but I cleared them both at the time and only the 61 returned. However now the 64 has reared it's ugly head. Now I know it is VERY common for the wiring loom to go bad, due to in my opinion a Stupidly place harness. However I figured I'd ask …

2016 Passat 1.6 diesel auto. When I start a journey with aircon on and fan blowing all is ok. After about 50 miles the flow gets weaker, and after 80 miles or so, I have it cranked over to full speed fan, and hardly anything is coming out the vents. Any suggestions?
