I just recently had my timing chain and turbo replaced on my 2016 VW Golf SuperSport. Used an independent mechanic and not the dealership. After getting it back, the engine makes a loud screeching noise when I open the hood, doors, trunk and start the car. Sounds like something is trying to cycle but is getting stuck. Acc light and EPC lights are on. Today I noticed that my gas mileage is very poor and after driving it for a long period of time, I had white smoke coming from the engine. I had it towed back to the mechanic. Any input on solutions, other than getting a new mechanic. Feeling a little sick to my stomach after paying a lot of money to have it fixed. …

Hi Guys, Just thought i'd come on here and introduce myself. I'm Steve, From Ipswich Suffolk. My pride and joy is a well used 1999, Mk 4 (Yeah i know Mk 3.5) 2L Golf Cabriolet Aventgarde :) She'e see better days, does need a little TLC... but after 127,000 miles she's still going strong. My Second ever car 17 years ago was a 1.1 Mk1 Golf, I loved that little car but unfortunately she died after about 6 months of me boy racering around lol. Havent owned a Dub since... until 0ct 2012 when I bought my Cabby... its re-lit my flame for all things VW, hopefully money permitting i'll be off to some Dub festivals this summer :) Take it easy... it's good to be in the club …

Hi. I’m Charlie. I live out in the sticks on the Herefordshire / Worcestershire borders... Bought my first ever VW back in December. It’s the smallest GTI the Up. I bought the wee car to exploit the cracking B roads out where we live. Roads round here are tight naggery bends and tight corners with very few straight bits. I was due to take delivery of a Polo but that car ended up to be a proper leper. Couldn’t find another Polo I liked and ended up with this fun little GTI. Only modifications so far is the remap that has taken it from the 115 BHP they come with to 145. Not a massive gain but wow does it make this wee car go well 👍👍👍👍 Cheers

2014 Golf R - Should I wait and get the new Golf R or a GTI with Performance Pack? I haven't not been able to establish when exactly the new Golf R will be available to buy in the UK, but wonder if the GTI is a better bet? Will the new Golf R be as good looking as the GTI? hi im new here was hoping to gain some useful information from other members. i have a 1.9tdi se passat on a 56 plate i have started to have a bit of trouble with it i have no warning lights on the dash yet for some reason my car keeps losing power and going into limp/safe mode usually after ive been out for a while and want to overtake or accelerating up a hill or small incline on the motorway. when i switch the engine off and turn it back on it resets itself and runs perfect for a while then all of a sudden it will happen again.

Hi all, thank you for letting me join am 36 from Liverpool. I am a big motor fan. I have had all kinds over the years. I have 2 B6 passats highline sports estates. 2.0tdi one dsg one manual. I became a vw Dec 22. When I got my first passat manual. Love the car, the space, the driving and economy and can still move enough for today's traffic. Unfortunately the rust monsters are slowly eating it away. Spring snapped. Turbo actuator seized, intercooler gone, windscreen cracked, spring snapped, trailing arm bush gone.
