  1. Hi all, I'm thinking of fitting power folding mirrors to my Amarok. Currently they manually fold but are electrically adjustable and heated. Do I need to run new wires or will the required cabling exist in the loom of the vehicle? Obviously I appreciate I will need to change the mirror mechanisms and the switch. Thanks in advance. Dan

Hi, I am a newbie on here, please be gentle. Would someone on here please provide some advise on a Japanese made Bosch fuel injection pump ( diesel ) part number 0 470 504 012. I would like to know the resistance value of the spill control solenoid/electromagnet, part number 479763-1220. I have a feeling that the one on this pump may have "burnt out". Would anyone have the Bosch yellow publication giving principle of operation and hopefully tech details please. Thanks in advance. rich.

I have a 2011 2.0 SA match Tiguan an on Friday the cam belt went. It has 76,000 on the clock and was due a cam belt change but just hadn't got round to it. VW have investigated the reason for the Cam belt failure and it was the water pump and although I have extended warranty on the car the warranty company are saying as I missed the replacement interval for the belt they won't honour it. i am currently in dispute as I have said that as the water pump was the root cause this should be covered, any thoughts? i have had a quote of £1350 for a reconditioned engine and wondered if anyone could give me an idea what it might cost to swap over. suffice t…

Hello Polo Members. I have a 57 plate, 5 door Polo and I need to remove the drivers door inner skin to inspect/remove the window regulator module. I have had a go by removing the 3 screws at the bottom. All the plastic popper fixings seem to have come apart okay. Not sure how to tackle the top door release with mirror switch and the lower grab handle with window switch.?? Can anyone advise please, I would be grateful. Thanks Reggie

Hi everyone. Hoping to get some advice about the turbo system on my car. It's a 2005 1.9 TDi PD SE touran. The car would run fine for a mile or two then it'd be like the turbo had stopped working. Just no power at all. Switch off and it'd be ok for a mile or so then it'd happen again. I suspected MAP sensor as something was obviously resetting when it was switched off. After a week or so the emissions workshop light came on so I asked a friend to read it for me. Plugged into reader and it came back, from what I can remember, turbo pressure or something along those lines. Turned out that when I took turbo off the shaft had movement in it so I replaced the full unit. The car …

  14. hi, Both the key operated central locking and the electric front windows are not working. A local Independent linked their diagnostic machine to the car and it was pointing towards a Central Control Unit or perhaps called a Computer Control Unit, housed within the drivers door. It seems to be an intermittent fault strangely working okay in warmer weather but packing up in wet and colder weather. Does anyone have any experience with this problem please? The car will only lock manually via each door independently and the electric front windows do not work at all. Many thanks, Stephen

Hi this is my first entry on this VW site, my wife as a Lupo SDI which is a great car But recently its started draining the battery, an auto electrician looked at it and removed the aftermarket alarm and central locking. three days later it was flat again, I charged the battery and disconnected the negative lead from the battery, today I put an Amp meter between the negative lead and the negative connector and it showed 6.2 amp drain for a few second then went to zero. Help as any one got any Ideas PLEASE.....

Hi, My 2012, 2ltr Bluemotion Passat DSG has recently started to give me some gear selection problems. Basically it is an occasional problem, where ,after starting the car ,it is extremely difficult to move the gear selector leaver out of the Park position. It requires extreme force to move the leaver into drive. My vehicle is still under warranty but before taking it into the local dealer, I wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem. Would be grateful for any info. on this problem ,as it is very inconvenient to get to the dealer. Thanks Marsh

2003 Jetta 1.9L TDI w/hydraulic clutch and 5 speed manual transmission. Problem occured suddenly not gradually so must be failure rather than wear. When engine is running and clutch depressed, cannot shift into or out of any gear. With engine off, can shift thru all gears smoothly. With engine off, shift into any gear, then start engine and let clutch out, clutch engagement is smooth, everything is normal until next shift point. Can't shift unless engine is shut off, then shift is smooth, engine restarted and everything normal until next shift point. Same thing happens thru all gears. Clutch engages normally with no chatter. When stopped with engine running, no vehicl…

Hi, I bought my daughter a 2007 VW FOX about a year ago. She has recently had a baby and was looking to see how to disable the passenger dash air bag so she can put the baby seat in the front seat facing the rear. There doesn't seem to be a disable switch anywhere and the owner manual says only a VW dealer can do this. Called local dealer and they say the Fox is the only one they can't do !! Apart from removing the air bag fuse !!! which i guess will disable all air bags , anyone here got a solution ? Thanks. Mike.

  25. Can you advise on a compatible rear mounted cycle carrier that will fit my VW UP 2012. My car is leased so I don't want to purchase the roof mounted carrier (as advised by my local dealer) as it's too expensive. I have also spoken to a local towbar company last year and they advise the load weight of the car restricts the installation of a towbar. I thought a manufacturer may have made a suitable rear mounted cycle carrier now that the UP has been out on the market for a year. Much appreciate any feedback.
