VW golf plus 2007 clutch pedal

Featured Replies

Hi   I have a 2007 VW golf plus with 120000 miles on the clock. The clutch pedal is on the floor. I can pull it back up and it seems its OK. I can place it in gear and it starts to drive. Then the problem re occurs when I press the pedal it stays down and it won't disengage. Is it a master or slave cylinder problem. Any help or advice would help. Thanks Michael

Sounds like it could be the plastic ratchet mechanism on the clutch pedal

Have a look under the dash at the top of the clutch pedal and see if there is a white plastic part
It should also make a ratcheting noise when you lift the pedal back up

If it is this then it needs replacing but is a sod of a job to do unless you are very flexible
