Can anyone please tell me how to remove the tailgate trim from a VW Touran 2006. Starting with the lower section Ive taken out the screws in the recess handles and a lot of the clips will come away but there still seems to be something holding it in place?

Plastic clips which pull out (and sometimes break) usually hold the panels in place.
see if you can pull it back far enough to see what else is retaining it
