Ledwyn Delaisse Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Hi - when turning a corner yesterday there was a slight noise from steering column area and all the steering wheel electrical controls failed - air bag light error, no horn, no computer control, no stereo volume control. I assume this is a fuse blown but which one and where?? And any ideas on what might have caused this fault? The rest of the car works fine..
Volkswagen Owners Club Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 It sounds like it is the spiral cable (SRS clock spring) which connects the SRS and other steering functions to the vehicle As the steering wheel turns you can hear a grating noise and this is a telltale sign that the cable is breaking up or rubbing through Has the car had any work done to it recently? (Steering Rack, Tracking, Steering Wheel removed, etc)?
