hi guys I'm in the process of buying a 2013 3door 1.4 tsi and just wanted to ask are these engines reliable are there any other things I should no about?? I'm coming from a 2015 Focus ecoboost. Thanks in advance

the 1.4 TSi is quite a reliable engine if its maintained regularly and not thrashed too much....also very economical

I've had a 1.4tsi for 18 months now since new.  I have found it reliable so far and pretty nifty.  The only problem I am experiencing is with the start/stop system which seems to have stopped working.  My VW dealer keeps saying there's nothing wrong with it.  Apart from the fact it don't work that is.  On-going saga.

Maybe best to switch off the function if its causing problems....?

Update the car is fantastic. My only thing is the radiator fan has some how unclip it's self and was rattling and the fan blade was hitting the air con pipe

That's not too bad then, easily fixable
