antiquebiker Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Hi all, New to this forum so apologies if this has been asked before. Just purchased a 2016 Sharan 150 Nav. Tried to connect my phone to use the Appleplay feature through App-Connect only to find out it needs an activation code from my local VW dealer. I phoned them and was told it would cost £250 for this code which seems to be quite an expensive option. Does this sound about right? Has anyone managed to do this without having to use a main dealer? Thanks in advance for any help.
Volkswagen Owners Club Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Hi ..... welcome to the Club I'm not personally sure about a way around this without going to the dealer but I would chat with a local VW specialist as they may be able to do this via their diagnostic platform
antiquebiker Posted April 14, 2023 Author Posted April 14, 2023 This post was recognized by Volkswagen Owners Club! antiquebiker was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 30 points. Thanks. I did try this option only to be told it's a main dealer job. Was quoted £262 + vat to purchase plus £70 + vat to install. I found a company called North East VAG Adaptions who were able to help. They provided the activation codes for both the App-Connect and voice control via email which I transferred to a SD card. Did a system update which took about five minute and hey presto, all working. Cost was £100 all in. I did ask what would happen if it all went belly up and they offer full support. 1
