Vw Passat 2011 2 ltr tdi Bluemotion abs sensor

Hi 

Have trouble with son’s VW Passat 2011 saloon 2 ltr tdi Bluemotions rear o/s abs sensor……Information supplied to supplier Reg & Vin number , received black sensor where as one on vehicle is grey…..is this detrimental to abs operation? (Fitted black one & reader states ‘incorrect  signal’ )

Changed wheel hub & magnetic ring🤔

Are the same amount of wires on both sensors?

Can you measure the resistance of both sensors to see if they are the same (or at least quite similar resistance (Ohms) ?

Also ensure that the reluctor ring has the same amount of teeth / slots as the original one
