Hi, does anyone have any experience of a 2007 Touran quietly cutting out while driving? It's just been serviced and has plenty of diesel in the tank, but it just cuts out and drifts to a standstill. Once stationery, it will start again without a problem, but the fault reoccurs when driving again. The AA thought it might be a faulty cam shaft sensor, but the garage said the code for that isn't coming up as a fault. It's been a brilliant car for years and this is pretty much the first time I've had problems with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I'm charged more enormous labour costs at the garage.

I am hoping someone out there has the answer to my issue...... I have a very basic but immaculate Touran to which I want to add below bumper fog lights. Fitting seems straight forward BUT as a basic model, the light switch loom plug has no facility to add the trigger wire to the assembly so it contacts with the switch itself. Has anyone ever upgraded the plug such that all pins are active and the trigger wire can be inserted into the plug?

I have a 2008 Touran with a 2.0 TDI 170hp engine. 2 weeks ago the RPM on idle started staying at 1100 from the usual 800-850.This happened everyday, but not every time the car was stopped. I did a check and not a single sensor or code was showing on the computer. In the meantime I changed a cracked water pipe which made the car loose about 1 liter of coolant (replaced now). And also when the RPM is at 1100 and when I press the brakes the steering wheel tends to shake or block for a fraction of a second when turning fast. Tried turning the wheel with normal RPM(800) and the steering wheel is absolutely fine. The car has been checked by many mechani…

Hi , I got a vw touran , my clutch pedals just going to the floor , iv changed the master cylinder on the clutch pedal , changed the slave cylinder. Any ideas what else it could be ?

Just started having trouble with my media system not turning on intermittently and since this started happening the middle row interior lights stay on permanently. Only go off when car is locked up. OK in the day as don't notice them but a pain at night time. Done all the usual button checks etc. Anyone else got this issue?

Has anybody had any problem having Apple car play fitted to 2018 VW Touran 1.2? My local VW garage has told me it’s not possible unless I spend approx £1200 to ‘convert’ it. Why would VW make a car of this age to not be able to take it? Absolute mystery!

Hi all I am new to this my touran has done just about 209k but I left my house to do a 90 miles drive got there all ok and I got about 10 mins into my journey back that takes 2hrs I stopped at some traffic lights soon as they went green my car made this different nose so pulled over looked under the car looked at tyres all ok lifted bonnet could not see anything different to normal so I Rev the car and soon as I Rev the car I could see smoke coming from the engine so I went to have a look and i thought it smelled like rubber I then rang the brake down and he said the smell n smoke is the diesel fumes that’s escaping but I ended getting recovered can anyone give me any adv…

Hi All. I have a 2007 Touran 170 sport. In January this year in heavy rain I drove through a very deep puddle. The car continued to drive for another 20mins and stood on tick over until I put it into drive then the engine cut out and wouldn't start. I had the car recovered and a mechanic have a look at it. The injectors are still original but the wiring is new. The injectors were swapped around but fault was still on No1 Cylinder. The ECU was sent away for inspection and came back clean. Does anyone have any idea what to do next.

I am trying to access the settings menu on a Japanese 2014 Touran to change the trip computer from KM to Miles. My understanding is that usually done by pressing and holding down the rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk, although in this case that is not accessing the menu. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Hi I'm having problems with my sway bar on my touran. It not the link bars or the Bush it the actual bar how do i remove it. Do I have to remove the steering rack or drop the front cross member.please can someone help many thanks

I purchased a 2007 Touran 1.9tdi for Towing after my Kia Carens refused to start, fitted my own tow ball and dual electrics and Towed it to Santa Pod. 36 Miles short of the Pod it was pulling back, stalling and finally packed up to the east of Brackley on the A43!! Problem one, found a local rescue garage and £420 later Caravan is at the Pod and the Car was dropped at Johns Garage at Brackley, Im giving the Garage a plug here! Next day 8am Garage calls its the fuel pump, VW bits easy to get and Work time half what it is in Southampton so £246 lighter new pump fitted and the man hours 2.5 and £100, not bad Broke down at 2pm fixed by 2pm next day! And pulled the fuse on the SRS system which has now lit the Airbag Light, as I have just changed the switchgear/clockspring on my FIAT Panda and need to switch off that light I have purchased a FOXWELL NT630 PRO which apparently can do both, I have an Autel 319 ,a Maxicheck Pro and a FOXWELL NT 301 I thought here we go again, the KIA Caren is going to Hendy KIA on the 1st Oct for a diagnostic, IF and that is a big IF they get it running I will keep the KIA anyone interested in a Touran brand new Fuel pump I paid £2050 for it and have fitted new front discs and EBC Optimax pads..................still lets wait for the result from Hendys. The washer bottle has stopped working on my vehicle, (wipers work fine) . Try as I might I cannot find any info as to the location of the washer bottle fuse, ie I have looked in handbook & many sites online . I read one comment that said there wasn't a seperate fuse , & that it was controlled by a body control module. Anyone able to help please , thanks in advance ;- Stu

FANS COMING ON WHEN ENGINE OFF AND STAYING ON. HAVE TO TAKE FUSE OUT EVERYTIME TO FIX.

I've just picked up a VW Touran 2004. Test drive was absolutely fine and on initial inspection everything looked good. However, after driving it for about 2hrs the engine sounded pretty loud. I popped the bonnet and there's excessive movement in the engine. When the engine is cool it's not so bad. I'm going to service it. But any ideas on what this could potentially be? I did pop in to a garage that I was passing by who suggested it could be the engine mounts but without a proper look they can't be sure. It's had a brand new mot - no advisories. Had a lot of work done to pass the mot and no mention of any issues with the engine mounts or anything else...

Hi, apologies if this has been covered before. I did search it and couldn't find anything. I have an 09 touran and have to replace the centre row right hand side seat belt buckle. But am struggling to see how to get the plastic trim off to access it. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated as I need to do this for mot. Many thanks

Hi, thanks in advance any advice will be much appreciated. I have a 2014 touran 1.6 manual with stop start with the gearbox code being MFR. Unfortunately the box decided to pack up suddenly, without warning. Now I'm struggling to get hold of a second hand gearbox with the MFR code. Having researched online, I can see that a gearbox with the MAW is very similar and more readily available.T Looking at the VW manual, both gearboxes have identical gear ratios. I can't find any difference, so why make them with different codes. The big question is, is this possible? has anybody fitted a gearbox with a different code to the original?

Hi All, I have a 2.0 BKD Touran and have had an engine fitted (Head Gasket) since this the oil cooler keeps rubbing against the intercooler pipe, we have checked for clearance etc about 7mm, has anyone had any experience of this? Any advice would be appreciated Pete

Does anyone know if it possible to have a third isofix fitted to the middle 2nd row seat in earlier touran's? Thanks
