Hi everyone, Recently my VW Touran has started acting strange. Initially, the remote stopped working (both keys) but I was not too fussed because I could still unlock the car manually from the door handle and turn on ignition etc and go about my day (none of the buttons worked on the remote, despite having a fresh battery installed). But just now, the car, after unlocking manually from the driver's side door, is not turning on at all. It just says "NO KEY" then "CHECK". The engine turns on for a few seconds and promptly turns off, even after trying to maintain accelerator. I have attached a video to give you a better underst…

I’m having issues trying to start my elderly mums touran. No error codes are shown on diagnostic, new battery, new cam sensor, steady flow of fuel to filter, turns over but doesn’t fire. Working one minute and not the next. Anyone any ideas plz. COULD IT BE A FAULTY TANDEM PUMP? Would it cause it to not start?

Hi, I have a 2005 1.9 TDI. Has anyone any idea where the relay is for the front wipers please? I've taken every single relay out one by one from the ralay board behind the fuse box under the steering and the wipers kept working so it's none of them. Help. Or is it a simple case that the wipers have no relay? Thanks in advance

Hi, looking to see if anyone has had this kind of issue before please? I've been told its the relay and that would make perfect sense to me, but I cant for the life of me find out which relay it is on the relay board under the steering behind the fuse box? Help please . Ok I know that when the bonnet / Hood is open, the micro switch in the bonnet catch stops the 2 front wipers and the screen wash from working as standard. We initially thought a faulty bonnet switch was causing our issue of the wipers acting very strange, however when they act strange and don't work the screen wash still works so that eliminates it…

Hi, Can anyone offer advice on how to sort out a problem with our cabin fan switch. We have had our Touran since 2012 when I retired, we have done a lot of miles touring in it, and it's been fantastic. We have always had it serviced by the main dealer and had them sort out any niggles. As it is getting a bit old we have decided that the main dealer prices are a bit disproportionate to its value now but it has developed a fault which I suspect may be a main dealer job and would like a bit of advice before splashing out for that. The cabin fan switch is only working on #3 and #4. If the switch is just a direct line to the fan with different resisters for eac…

Hi Folks, I've got a 2017 R-Line Touran. Unfortunately, the vent tab has popped out for the front passneger door side vent. Looking online, everyone seems to suggest removing the vent to put the tab back in - I assume to ensure you don't drop parts down into the vent It looks like i need to remove the dash trim surround to get the vent out. For the life of me I can't seem to find a guide on how to do this. I assume its just trim tabs, but I dont want to break anything ! Any ideas / insight hugely appreciated.

The washer bottle has stopped working on my vehicle, (wipers work fine) . Try as I might I cannot find any info as to the location of the washer bottle fuse, ie I have looked in handbook & many sites online . I read one comment that said there wasn't a seperate fuse , & that it was controlled by a body control module. Anyone able to help please , thanks in advance ;- Stu

Hi all, Have recently purchased a lovely Touran after having a Q5. Long story short, had a child and thought a Q5 would be sufficient for family travel when we eventually had another child, and would have been the case had it not been for twins arriving last week. A blessing nonetheless but meant I had to look at other options, and the Touran was the best fit. Absolutely love the car, and actually prefer it to my old Q5. The only issue I have is that it is a really good spec with halogen headlights. I find it quite surprising the R Line doesn’t come with LED as standard but never mind. Therefore, I’m looking to upgrade the unit. Is it just a case of buying …

I purchased a 2007 Touran 1.9tdi for Towing after my Kia Carens refused to start, fitted my own tow ball and dual electrics and Towed it to Santa Pod. 36 Miles short of the Pod it was pulling back, stalling and finally packed up to the east of Brackley on the A43!! Problem one, found a local rescue garage and £420 later Caravan is at the Pod and the Car was dropped at Johns Garage at Brackley, Im giving the Garage a plug here! Next day 8am Garage calls its the fuel pump, VW bits easy to get and Work time half what it is in Southampton so £246 lighter new pump fitted and the man hours 2.5 and £100, not bad Broke down at 2pm fixed by 2pm next day! Taxi c…

Hi guys, I’m new here, I have a 2019 1.0 tsi manual touran with 46k miles. in first gear and reverse with light acceleration I get a sound, the best way I can describe it is like the Knight Rider Kitt front red light sound (kkhwooowkh). this sound appears when I release the accelerator, it makes the sound even when in neutral but not as loud when in gear. Its also only giving 26mpg, this may be down to heavy body for the 1.0 engine but still is very low, I have had the clutch and flywheel checked, this is fine and bites where It should be. No flywheel sound, air filter box pipes all secure. any ideas please. Thanks

I am trying to access the settings menu on a Japanese 2014 Touran to change the trip computer from KM to Miles. My understanding is that usually done by pressing and holding down the rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk, although in this case that is not accessing the menu. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Dear all, Say hi to all Touran owners here first 👋 Hope I can get some advice on rear parking camera upgrade. My Touran comes with only Bluetooth infotainment system. No car play, no satellite navigation... etc. I hope to add a parking camera for my wife. May I have some recommendation on it? What should I check to confirm if parking camera is compatible with my Touran? Thank you for your attention. ☺

hi guys hoping for some help regarding my airbags I dont own a vcds so can’t dig into the faults too much was hoping one of you gurus would be able to shed some light on these and maybe offer a solution apart from the obvious changing out the air bags. From what I can see these haven’t deployed and look to be in tact so at a bit of a loss as to what my next t steps would be I’ve done the usual unplugging and checking the connections all look ok but airbag fault still remains even after running a test and clearing outstanding faults. TIA Matt

Has anybody had any problem having Apple car play fitted to 2018 VW Touran 1.2? My local VW garage has told me it’s not possible unless I spend approx £1200 to ‘convert’ it. Why would VW make a car of this age to not be able to take it? Absolute mystery!

Hi Recently my average mpg readout on the digital dash has been fluctuating a lot. It's the average one with a crossed out circle symbol, not the instantaneous one. It used to take a very long time to change as it was averaged over a 600 mike trip, might go up 2mpg on a long trip for example. But recently it jumped up from 46 to 50 on a 5 mike trip, then down to 24. Now it reads about 21 but it seems to change randomly, and far faster than it should. No warning lights, 2011 model...any ideas?

Hi all Was wondering if anyone could help me to understand something on a 2004 vw touran 1.9 TDI My brake pad wear indictior connector is broken therefore need to replace the loom end and not the brake pad +the sensor that comes with it, the question I have is does the abs cable run into the same loom, Ie 2 cables travels up into 1 and through the wing bulkhead? What I'm seeing is 1 cable comes through the wing bulkhead down to a upside down Y piece and one goes to the brake pad wear sensor and the other to the abs Thank you in advance! 🙏
