Hi I have a 2015 2.0 TD Sharan with 84k miles on the clock, I have an intermittent clunking noise coming from the front of the car which I thought was related to steering/ suspension. Garage has checked it out twice and can’t find anything wrong. Realised today the clunking noise is when I change gear (manual) and the clutch engages Anyone have any idea what is causing so I can give the garage some pointers? thanks

Hello everyone. I am very puzzled right now with my 2012 VW Sharan 1.4TSI. My wife and I were driving home on Sunday evening along the M4 and all of a sudden I got the EPC light come up and the car lost all drive. I gradually rolled to a stop (thankfully in an SOS layby as the stretch I was on had no hard shoulder.) When we reached a stop, the engine cut out, and wouldn’t restart, or at least it would restart for about a second and then immediately die. Evening all Has anyone upgraded the brakes on their Sharan? Does the Sharan carry over the same hubs as any other VAG stuff? I'm looking at using bigger brakes off of something within the same group rather than going for something like a big brake kit from an aftermarket manufacturer. Cheers

Hi. I've owned a number of mk1 Sharans, which I loved but I've just bought a 2009 Alhambra Ecomotive because my last Sharan finally died. However I've got a problem which is fairly similar to something that happened on my Sharan Sport some years ago. The car has the engine management light on and when started says "Emissions Workshop". I drive it and after a while the flashing glow plug light comes on and it enters limp home mode. There is a slight smell of exhaust gases in the car when the heater is on and at night I can see some smoke (presume exhaust) coming from the front grill. New here so apologies if I get some protocol wrong. I've looked at many videos etc onremoving the double din unit. I have used the removal keys and the unit comes part way out then stops. it doesn't slide out easily as in the videos. Mine seems to have something else at the back to undo. Any suggestions welcome. Before i spend hundreds at a main VW dealer does anyone know how to get the RNS 510 working back to normal had my one year old Grandaughter on my lap pressing all the buttons on radio and steering wheel didnt take much notice but its lost all stations and everything is in German ive tried to change language back to English it comes up in German the your chosen language is being loaded but nothing happens in desperation i pressed factory reset but its still all the same in German cd goes in and wont play sat nav comes up but all in German ani ideas please thanks in advance

I am looking for an airbag squib with part number 95VW14A664AA for the 1998 Sharan petrol 1.8T 20v. Tried all the usual places and eBay. Found a part in Lithuania which when fitted activated the horn. Clearly not desirable. Vehicle okay otherwise. Any tips?

I have a 2016 VOLKSWAGEN SHARAN MK2 (7N) SE TDI BLUEMOTION TECHNOLOGY DSG It seem to be stuck in less than 2000rpm. On the motor way it doesn't go beyond 30miles even with more stepping on the gas pedal. Revs are high at but speed stays the same or slower on a hill. What could be the problem? No engine lights no codes showing yet

My daughter has a 2013 Sharan ( this is her second Sharan ) and she has encountered a problem with diesel fumes in the car and depending on the weather these can be just about tolerable to intolerable. She was advised to have the ERG valve repaired which she did and the problem seemed to go away only to return in recent times. My questions are, is this problem related the the valve entirely, how much is the cost and replacement of a new one !. It is serious to the point where she wants to change the vehicle entirely when perhaps a change of valve may sort out the problem. Any advice or input is very welcome. Thank you.

I have a relay No 185,I am trying to locate were the relays are, so I can change it, as RAC said that it is my immobiliser relay is causing not start problem, I have a vw sharan 2.0, 1998 right hand drive, can any one help please

Hi All, Please, can anybody give me a piece of advice, what I can do with a broken front spring in an old MK1 sport version. I have tried numerous car parts shops, nobody has the coil spring, everybody point me to the VW dealership for replacement. I have called them £225 each, need a pair. So without labour £450 just the part. The spring has a colour code, 1 WHITE 1 YELLOW 1 BLUE. It is factory lowered kit, around 30 mm, this is what I was told. Is there any alternative solution? I saw lowering kit from 250 pound with 4 spring kit that is 30 mm as well, what If I buy something like that? Any breaker who might have this part? Any advice…

I drive a VW Sharan 2015 auto. For the last few days, the car has been shaking quite badly from around 30-40mph. After that it calms done and then as the speed climbs the steering vibrates. I don't think its alignment as it drives straight. Has anyone had a similar issue with a VW Sharan.

Hi, I’m trying to fit an aftermarket stereo in my 2006 Sharan, but I can find the correct harness for my car. Halfords have one for a VW but the pins do not correspond with the iso in my car. Has anyone had this experience? Or found a harness that works? thanks.

I've replaced my 07 Alhambra Nav head unit with a £50 Android unit. This works brilliantly but I am now without heated seats or windscreens. ESP cancel also not functioning. I have two plugs which went into the back of the old nav unit. One is a yellow/blue/green block. The other is grey with blue locking clip. The Android unit has no sockets for these, only the black and brown connectors. Any suggestions? As far as I know the old unit did not control these items. How are they interlinked and can it be bypassed? Any help much appreciated. Dave

Hello, Last year I bought an '04 Sharan with just 24k on the clock(yeah, crazy). A few urgent issues that needed to be sorted and now done(new oil pump, coolant leak), so she's running smoothly now(touchwood!) On last service, 2 things came up that will require work sooner rather than later, one of them corroded door sills. I'd like to get a quote on it. Can anyone recommend someone to do the work please? But little worried about fuel consumption, I can see from the trip computer that the fuel consumption is 11.4 l/100km inside the city usually,is that a regular consumption according to your experience , which thing I need to check if its high consumption.

Hi well loved 2005 VW sharan 1.9 TDi, was driving fine, parked up at shops, came back and no lights or dials on dash when I turn the key except door open light, and won’t fire, turns over no problem. Towed back to house, checked battery, checked fuses, new relay 109 still no joy!!! Seams like no ECU com/no fuel pump? Could it be the immobiliser? Tried disconnecting battery and shorting red and black wires still nothing. Now the alarm goes off when I reattach the battery!! Anyone else had this or know what the problem might be???? Please help 😢

I have brought 2nd hand a VW Sharan 2020 plate. I've got Android Auto on my phone but it won't connect to the car even with the lead. My phone connects okay to car via Bluetooth and I can make and receive calls and normal texts but what's app not working.....am i doing something wrong or is this where o need to pay for the Data Plug?

Hi all, I have SHARAN highline Jap import, that developed a recent battery drain. Had it a few years but this fault recently manifested. It has an aftermarket ESSGOO android double din head unit, which came with vehicle. I have double checked it is correctly installed. All functions work Inc mfsw steering wheel, Park assist, doors opening reverse camera. A can bus adapter is fitted which I'm assuming is working correctly because it allows headunit to communicate with car and perform afore mentioned functions. The permanent and switched live all correspond with OEM quadlock. The head unit will turn on and off with ignition. The head unit completely powers down with ig…
