Hi all, Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum as I am new here and this is my first post. My friend owns a 2017 VW Passat hybrid and he sent me this photo (please see below) the mechanic said it's missing a cover. Can anyone verify what this is and if there is a cover please. I just recently had my timing chain and turbo replaced on my 2016 VW Golf SuperSport. Used an independent mechanic and not the dealership. After getting it back, the engine makes a loud screeching noise when I open the hood, doors, trunk and start the car. Sounds like something is trying to cycle but is getting stuck. Acc light and EPC lights are on. Today I noticed that my gas mileage is very poor and after driving it for a long period of time, I had white smoke coming from the engine. I had it towed back to the mechanic. Any input on solutions, other than getting a new mechanic. Feeling a little sick to my stomach after paying a lot of money to have it fixed. …

Hi Please can anyone suggest an alternative to the Febi Bilstein retaining clips/ flat steel nuts that used to hold the under tray on to my Blue Gt? They are made of spring steel and have disintegrated over time. I dont really want to replace them like for like as they are expensive and the same thing will happen again. Thanks

Just bought car and would like to retro fit a reversing camera which would work using existing screens etc. Would prefer to have it fit professionally, but open to options. Looking online leads one to various options, separate camera above licence plate, or, in the tail gate boot opener. Advices please🤔🤔 wgg

Hi folks, New to this forum. My mk7 2017 facelift Golf has developed a strange USB issue. When I plug an Android phone in it randomly tells me "Failed to connect to USB". It does work sometimes but often fails. For instance if using Google Maps it can disconnect. I've changed the phone from a Motorola to a Google Pixel and have used 3 separate Type C cables but the problem is still there. This only started to happen at the start of the year. The socket rarely gets unplugged so wear and tear would be unlikely. Has anybody experienced this? It isn't the end of the world but I was hoping for a nice cheap fix. Thanks Phil

We own a 2012 Touareg Altitude , lovely car but I trying to find someone who has fitted side step to an Altitude model, as my wife is struggling to get in and out, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, spoken to a couple of supplier who said its possible but spacers are needed. I purchased a set of genuine VW steps but there isn't enough clearance to open the door. Cheers Steve

Hi my name is Neil and I'm new here also have a problem with my car that a standard garage have basically said they don't know what's wrong and to take it to an auto electrician which I'm trying to avoid, the code is cylinder 2 misfire and I've done all the normal things, changed spark plugs and coils, had a new injector fitted, changed the MAF sensor, put a new breather pipe for the oil and it still doesn't work, every time you press the accelerator pedal more than about 2cm it judders like crazy and gets worse in higher gears and when it judders it makes the engine management light flash, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi all, thank you for letting me join am 36 from Liverpool. I am a big motor fan. I have had all kinds over the years. I have 2 B6 passats highline sports estates. 2.0tdi one dsg one manual. I became a vw Dec 22. When I got my first passat manual. Love the car, the space, the driving and economy and can still move enough for today's traffic. Unfortunately the rust monsters are slowly eating it away. Spring snapped. Turbo actuator seized, intercooler gone, windscreen cracked, spring snapped, trailing arm bush gone. So The second one I bought just this weekend for £100. Its a dsg with no reverse which I aim to fix. As its in better shape than mine. Failing that figure a wa…

Hi thanks for letting me join. I’m hoping you extremely knowledgeable VW owners will be able to help me. Last year after my 2014 Touran 1.6 (owned from new) had a major service (40000 miles) there was an advisory note saying that the driveshaft heat shield was missing. I’m sorry to say I didn’t think much about it at the time but as I’m about to book this years service I noticed the note again. I have spent a little time searching on the web and can only find second hand heat shields from scrap merchants mostly and I don’t know the VW part number. Does anyone know if this can be bought new from a VW dealership if I give them my VIN number? I’ve obviously been driving ar…

Hi folks, I'm just introducing myself, Im T. I just bought an Touran 2.0 Match dsg auto box a couple of months ago. This is my first VW for over 40+ years. (last one was a 1962 lhd beetle) I love the Touran but it had to have a new flywheel because after a couple of weeks driving it, it developed well hell of a rattle, good job i bought an extended warranty at the same time, Its a 2010 plate reg only done 69000 since new, it is immaculate inside and just a very few marks on the exterior, already been touched and blended in. I think i paid over the odds for it but hey who's counting. It was dealers price but as soon as i test drove it, it was m…
