Please help had my golf 2 months now had dmf new clutch timeing belt done job lot problem is from a cold start the car engine shackes really bad through the car then goes when temp up to 90 what could cause this I'm stuck

Two issues I need help with. Firstly the mileage display shows ongoing fuel consumption (30.5 mpg which is 50% better in my new Touareg than in the old one) since I had the car, shows consumption on a momentary basis etc.. I want to be able to see the consumption on a specific journey - for example if i decide to drive to Brussels how can I get it to tell me the mpg achieved on that journey? Secondly how can I get it to boot up faster? Because the heated windscreen and heated steering wheel only turn on through the environmental controls on the computer, I have to sit in a damn cold car waiting the two or three minutes for the computer to boot up before I can start to d…

Does anybody know what a loud knocking sound could be on a VW Golf 53 plate when turning?? It is a real loud knocking/rattling sound like your dragging metal. It is not continuous,it comes and goes but starts only after turning.

Hi can anyone help, my 2005 1.6 fsi golf had a metallic rattle when revving the throttle. i was told it was the timing chain but since replacing with a complete kit inc tensioner,the noise remains have i missed something. Thank you

Can you advise on a compatible rear mounted cycle carrier that will fit my VW UP 2012. My car is leased so I don't want to purchase the roof mounted carrier (as advised by my local dealer) as it's too expensive. I have also spoken to a local towbar company last year and they advise the load weight of the car restricts the installation of a towbar. I thought a manufacturer may have made a suitable rear mounted cycle carrier now that the UP has been out on the market for a year. Much appreciate any feedback.

I have a 2009 VW polo with a battery that runs flat if I haven’t turned the engine over for about 4 days. It’s been doing this for about 3 years years now. In the past I didn’t drive it much and mostly short journeys but since the problem started I’ve been driving it at least twice a week for about 45 mins each time. I have RAC cover so each time it’s flat they run checks on the battery and almost every time the result is replacement battery needed. My cover provides replacement batteries so there’s no additional cost but it does mean I’m getting about 3 new batteries a year. Hi folk, I'm hoping someone hre can help me solve this problem... I need to change the OSF/Drivers side wishbone/suspension subframe/bracket. The problem I'm having is with the bolt to the steering rack! It has no nut on it just like a thing washer on the top with a small amount of thread sticking out. When I try to remove this bot it just turns including the thick washer on the top it all turns but dose not come out!!!! I'm at my wits end with it was in the pit all day yesterday trying to get it out cant get a grip on the washer type fixing on the top with anything. Am I doing something wrong? hi im new here was hoping to gain some useful information from other members. i have a 1.9tdi se passat on a 56 plate i have started to have a bit of trouble with it i have no warning lights on the dash yet for some reason my car keeps losing power and going into limp/safe mode usually after ive been out for a while and want to overtake or accelerating up a hill or small incline on the motorway. when i switch the engine off and turn it back on it resets itself and runs perfect for a while then all of a sudden it will happen again.

Hi all, Just bought myself a 2009 Touareg V6 Altitude model that has the RNS510 and "Premium Telephone Preperation". Went to pair my phone with it. It sees and identifies my Huawei P10 phone (although the VW bluetooth doesn't appear on my phone when it searches). I click on it to connect and after a while it comes back and says "phone not compatible". I tried the same thing with a friends iphone 6 and I get the same problem. Hi all a newbie here looking for some help,after reclining my passenger seat of my MK4 25th Anniversary i have an airbag light on with code N200 (01218) resistance too high.I have done away with the yellow connector under the seat and added extra wire which has been soldered and heat shrunk but airbag light still on,Anybody any ideas what to try next,Thanks in advance

Hi, I bought my daughter a 2007 VW FOX about a year ago. She has recently had a baby and was looking to see how to disable the passenger dash air bag so she can put the baby seat in the front seat facing the rear. There doesn't seem to be a disable switch anywhere and the owner manual says only a VW dealer can do this. Called local dealer and they say the Fox is the only one they can't do !! Apart from removing the air bag fuse !!! which i guess will disable all air bags , anyone here got a solution ? Thanks. Mike.

Hi all, I've purchased a passat b6 bkp dsg with no reverse gear. When I first got the car it worked after being parked up for a couple of months. I've scanned it with Carly I will attach the errors. As since the car has lost reverse again and has a error stored in the gearbox and something to do with solenoid 3. I wanted to know if there is anything that can cause this I.e low oil or a service may cure. Or would you recommend removing the unit and repair?

2003 Jetta 1.9L TDI w/hydraulic clutch and 5 speed manual transmission. Problem occured suddenly not gradually so must be failure rather than wear. When engine is running and clutch depressed, cannot shift into or out of any gear. With engine off, can shift thru all gears smoothly. With engine off, shift into any gear, then start engine and let clutch out, clutch engagement is smooth, everything is normal until next shift point. Can't shift unless engine is shut off, then shift is smooth, engine restarted and everything normal until next shift point. Same thing happens thru all gears. Clutch engages normally with no chatter. i have a 61 reg passat 2ltr diesel bluemotion its taking 5 attempts to start the car and its annoying as been in vw they thought the battery was fault but i didnt the battery passed all tests took it away took it back the next day same issue then following day they rang said theres petrol in diesel they recommended changing filter, draining the the tank clean it andn line £260 i said no dont drain tank next day pick car up they had drained the tank without permission be great for help cars under warranty

In the last couple of weeks my Golf Plus TDi has developed a strange battery drain issue. If I leave the car unlocked overnight it starts fine the following morning. If I lock it at night it’s totally flat the following morning. Anyone else experienced this or know a likely fix? TIA Stuart

Hi, My 2012, 2ltr Bluemotion Passat DSG has recently started to give me some gear selection problems. Basically it is an occasional problem, where ,after starting the car ,it is extremely difficult to move the gear selector leaver out of the Park position. It requires extreme force to move the leaver into drive. My vehicle is still under warranty but before taking it into the local dealer, I wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem. Would be grateful for any info. on this problem ,as it is very inconvenient to get to the dealer. Thanks Marsh

Afternoon have a 01130 Abs fault code on my Scirocco have been told it needs replaced. Abs pump part number is 1K0614517BE. I've seen 2nd Hand replacement ones online but the only thing different is the last 2 letters all other details are the same. How do I clarify that the part I'm wanting to buy will fit. It says it will fit 2008-2015 Hopefully someone can help Thanks Stevie
