Antlyons Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Hi there is their any issues to converting away from the dmf to a s flywheel? Weighing up the costs atm. Thanks for looking
Volkswagen Owners Club Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 A DMF is fine if vehicle is driven correctly but unfortunately, it is not always driven as it should be before you buy a second hand car and then inherit a worn flywheel. Fitting a new DMF is probably just as good as a 4 piece clutch kit with solid flywheel
tonyholbury Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 My Caren started clutch slipping towing the van to Weymouth got the DMF/Clutch replaced at a cost of £720 The Touran conked out van towing and that set me back £731 for a car/van tow (to Santa pod)/taxi to collect car and replaced fuel pump
tonyholbury Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Personally Im always gentle on the clutch changes so I think the DMF is a waste of money and partly replaces the 'snatch springs' in a normal clutch plate a DMF plate has no snatch springs or at least the Carens didnt.
