I've just traded my 2.0 tdi GT vw golf vi 2012 and took delivery of a new vw polo 1.6 tdi SEL

I have steel wheels fitted with winter tyres 195/55/15 hankooks

Will they fit my new vw polo and if yes will I need to change tyre size I currently

Have 16" alloys on polo which came with it

They may well fit (just try one for size) but may throw out your speedo!

No they won't fit. The two wheels have a different PCD. Same center-bore size though so you may find adapters easy enough. G23 engineering are good for adapters.

The speedo should be fine, the steels will have bigger tyres than the alloys but you can get this corrected easy enough with VAGcom. (Any VW garage will do this is two seconds). I'm running 19" wheels up from factory 15" with no problems.
