Phaeton clock

Hi,looking for a bit of help with something that is starting to drive me nuts, the clock in my phaeton just stops on a regular basis, I pull the fuse and replace it and its good again for a day or two then it stops again. Don't want to buy a new clock just in case there is another cause. Any help please?

Well at least it tells the right time twice a day 

Quite it is an internal fault with the clock...is it easy to remove and strip apart to see if there is any water ingress or other debris?
