HELP! VW Polo Japanese Imports? Really?

So looking for a first car for my daughter, 1.2 Polo seems like a good option, was thinking 2010 - 2014 tops.

So I stumbled across not one but many autotrader listings with "Japanese Imports" and "no service history? Reading a few online articles, they and the dealers all state that in Japan, the standards are a lot higher in terms of how people care for vehicles and mileage is low? Hence why I see 2012s having around 40-55k milage?

My concern is that I have no service history?
Safety? How do I know if it was actually in an accident?
Then other concerns? Or am I over worrying?
Anyone have any advice?

Usually with Japanese import vehicles, they go through an auction house and are issued with a very comprehensive report on condition. This should be available to view from the dealer before you commit to purchase.
As far as I am aware the mileages are low as generally the roads are not vast and unable to achieve high speeds and distances.
