Hi, newbie here! Just got a 2009 mk 6 gti & last owner has fitted a centre silencer delete pipe. Im a bit old for the constant racket from this & would like to refit a centre silencer but am having a lot of problems sourcing this. Any ideas other than a complete new system? Looks online at least, to be same as a Mk5 gti centre box? thanks, Simon

Here is my brothers - recently sold- Mk2 GTD It was crazy and we loved it. Fully strut braced, race Bilstein Coilovers, uprated anti roll bars, exhaust, I could go on for ever but the essence is it smoked everything, and I mean smoked! Black cloud and he was gone. Anyway, here it is.

So Ive replaced what feels like everything, the list so far goes.... Distributor cap HT Leads Spark Plugs Rotor Arm Fuel Pump All Associated Relays Starter Motor Ignition Switch Still she won't start and absolutely no spark. The car turns over freely and sounds to have good compression but I can't get a spark. Today we had the aftermarket alarm and immobiliser taken out just to eliminate that but still nothing. Anybody have any ideas? Any help appreciated Car is a Mk2 Golf Gti 1.8 8V

Hi all I have a golf gtd 2.0 , hope someone can help? Noticed a few days ago that the clutch pedal was releasing slowly, only done it first thing in the morning then appeared to be fine !took the vehicle vw they investigated and told me that the problem is the gear box ? I don’t really understand why as the vehicle seems to go through the gears nicely with no problems ! They quoted me £600-£800 and worst case scenario up to£2000 if they find an issue with clutch or fly whel? Anyone had similar issues? I’m aware of some issues with the slow release valve . tia

Hi everyone. I've just bought a Golf Mk7 2019. Which is the best OBD2 software for a Win10 PC to diagnose faults, unlock features, and perhaps tweak the ECU. ? Thanks.

  15. Hello, I'm a newbie to the forums, and have a door lock issue with my Golf Mk6 4 door 2009 Golf. The right rear door with not lock with the fob. All the other doors lock ok and I can hear the click mechanism working for those doors. I can lock the door manually using the screw override turn on the door (using a flat head screwdriver or similar). Then when unlocking using the fob again, it unlocks all the 4 doors fine. I have tried some WD40 on the latch itself, but this has not helped (didn't expect it to really) There are no reported errors when checking the ECU for error codes. Is there anything else to try and diagnose the problem before going an…

Hi, does anyone have experience of using these please? My brand new Golf got 'dinged' on its very first outing in a public car park and I don't want to have to keep getting a 'paintless repair' done each time this happens - as it surely will over time!
