Just bought a 2006 Passat Estate for my daughter. The door mirrors are electrically adjustable but have no provision for folding on the control knob. Can they be just pushed in when parking in tight areas? Reluctant to try too hard as there seems a lot of resistance. Thanks

I own a 2010 vw passat, I have 2 car keys for this car, On one key the car opens but does'nt lock, the other key locks but does'nt open....How can i fix this ?

I have a 51 plate 1.9 tdi pd 130. there is a lack of power and when it hits a certain rev in every gear it drops 50% power. turn ignition off and back back on and the same rubbish power is back( to original low power). any ideas folks? mate said it may be the EGR valve. clues please folks. regards and thank you

Having seen that water leaks are common on Passat's I have carried out the recommended actions on my 2004 car and cleaned out the drain hole and replaced the seal around the filter house. Next is to dry out the carpets. I am reluctant to disturb the CCM box as the only issue with the car is the central locking which only works with the manual door lock and the drivers door interior light is not working. Any suggestions please, can I make things worse by touching it and can the current faults be something else within the door CL system. Thank you for any suggestions.

Came to vehicle yesterday and car started fine but clock and mileage trip /range etc had reset to zero . Anybody come across this before ?

I like all the new technology in the car and was really enjoying driving it, but VW seem to have messed up with the auto-dimming of the instrument panel lighting. Hope someone can please help my dpf light keeps comming on I have had it regenerated about 20 times no fault codes I have had a company come and clean it (£270) have replaced the top sensor and it’s still comming on and going into limp mode would a new dpf sort this once and for all the car is a 13 reg blue motion tdi 140000 miles I love the car and don’t want to get rid of it but am proper fed up with it now cherrs

Good morning any one question i am due to drive to spain via france i am in uk at the moment therefor i have to sort my headlights out so i can drive on the lhs iam reading my owners manual and it states if i am driving through europe i need to go to the onboard menu and sellect travel mode what does this do i asume switches the lights over for lhd ??? if not can any one suggest what i can use i.e. stick a couple of strips of gaffa tap over my lights as the lenses are plactic regards Barry

Hi I have a 2.0 litre diesel 2018 plate with a DSG gear box. I had the mechatronic box replaced in Nov-23 and last year I started to notice it was occasionally "slipping" between 2nd and 3rd gears i.e. revving well over 2000 (it would normally changed 2nd to 3rd at about 2000 revs). Some times it would change automatically after the high revs, some times I would slow down and it would then change. I had never paid attention to the rev's before I had the fault that resulted in the new mechatronic (that was a complete failure with no warning, leaving me with just 2,4 and 6th gears). VW Passat Estate B6 As the MOT was due soon, I decided to check all the brake pads. The front had plenty of wear left although the wear limit warning cable had broken, so I ‘snipped’ it off as it was not part of any management system other than a warning on the dash. I will replace the front pads when necessary, complete with its wear limit warning cable. The rear pads were quite worn, so I decided they needed attention. I replaced the rear pads and drove quite happily for a couple of days using the electric handbrake where needed. 2002 passat check engine light on and we have to turn over twice before it starts. EVAC and emission. Repair shop said it's going to cost $1000 for the hoses alone. Is this generally the cost of hoses. My goodness.

Hello all, just changed the anti roll bar bushes, swapped to poly, I was led to believe only 1 nut was flanged on each bracket, turns out both nuts on each bracket are flanged, bit of a pig of a job room wise.

Hi all this is a long story sorry.ok here goes I fitted glow plugs in a 56 plate Passat 2.0 about 3 years ago not ones as said on a forum about 2 days later the engine management light came on I plugged in and it said glow plug 1 fault 2 fault 3 fault 4 fault so told my friend it could be wrong plugs but it started fine so 3 years down the line he has bought a new car and gave this car to me so I took rocker cover off took out the plugs and everyone goosed I thought strange but on my snap on machine it says there is a short on everyone testes them right enough goosed so then got me test light and tested every wire that goes to the plugs all ok there so I was puzzled I hav…

Tried to take off beam deflectors on arrival back in Portsmouth. They left awful sticky white mess on lamps. My wife gave me a nail varnish remover pad which did the trick but cracked the covers badly within a minute!!! Can I just replace this p[art or do I have to go the whole 2K plus hog? (We are, surprisingly, still talking.)

I went out to my car yesterday and tried to open it with the key fob, nothing happened I discovered that the car was unlocked. When I tried to start it, lights flashed and it started clicking, this happened a couple of times then it went completely blank no flashing or clicking. Would this be caused if the battery drained and could it be cured if I get a jump start? My car is a 56 plate Passat

For the last couple of days ive notice my clutch bite point is high. Is there anything that would be causing this other than needing a new clutch. thanks in advance for any answers.
