Hi all. I have a 2013 Passat Alltrack. The heater is playing up. When i set off, all is OK. About 10 minutes into a journey the heater stops blowing through the vents. The fan is still working. If I stop and push random heater control buttons it all works again. 10 minutes into the journey, all stops again. It's as if the vents are closing. I changed the pollen filter and it worked for about an hour, then all stop again. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Hey All, So haven't had to visit here in a while and I now have a problem, which I'm sure is common as heck and ya'll will probably scold me for posting a new thread about it. So It's a p1261 code along with p1264, now the one ending 61 was there when I originally bought the car (scanned it after purchase I know dumb dumb) however it sounds sweet, and runs fine (until recently I'll get to that) the 64 one was there also but I cleared them both at the time and only the 61 returned. However now the 64 has reared it's ugly head. Now I know it is VERY common for the wiring loom to go bad, due to in my opinion a Stupidly place harness. However I figured I'd ask …

The connection on the turbo boost hose to the intercooler has failed again. The x2 holding lugs to the intercooler connection clip does not hold the hose in position. This is the third hose failure which happens around every 50,000mls. Is there an upgraded clip or other modification available?

Where can I find the internal fuse board on my 2020 Passat 2.0 tdi Rline estate Have looked both ends of dash board behind door openings and behind the small glove box drivers side. But no fuses! These are the places that VW say they are. SOS module fault, want to try taking out fuse 19 to see if it will reset it.

My passat has trouble opening the central locking. The garage replaced key 12 months ago. The key has now intermittently stopped unlocking ( locks ok) but I can unlock it using the other key. a garage reported that the alternate key had failed yo unlock for him . he used the backup method of opening the door. The new key cost £400 + service charge to register it to the car. Is this a common problem? any DIY method of fixing?

Just bought a Passat, and the locking system confuses me. The key fob will wirelessly open the front two doors but only locks the drivers door, the rear two doors just remain locked. If I open the drivers door with the key the alarm sounds. Is this normal or is there something adrift with my remote locking system?

Hi all. I have an 08 Passat TDI estate.I've had an advisory on last mot to get bushes replaced on front lower wishbones both NS and OS. Some mechanic said the bushes can be replaced on the wishbones, another guy today said the bushes can't be replaced and I have to replace the whole lower Wishbone minus the ball joints. Which is correct please? Also if the job is done would tracking be counted as part of the rectification after installation of new wishbones or would that be an additional charge? I've been quoted £300 to replace the lower wishbones. Many thanks. Ess

Hi New on here and the proud new owner of B6 estate 2.0 TDI 170 SEL. Plenty of toys on there to be going on with but what I really miss are the steering wheel buttons from my old car. I was looking on eBay for a second hand wheel and there's plenty out there. I just wondered though, is is plug and play or do I need some kind of addition control unit ? The original is like new so I'm very reluctant to actually change it but if I find the right one in good condition I'll be a happy bunny. Assuming the swap would also be an easy thing? Disconnect battery etc..... Thanks in advance

On checking the outside temperature display on the car, it is showing 60 degrees Celsius! id there any way to reset or do I need to replace the sensor? if I need to replace the sensor, can it be done by myself? Or is it better for a garage to do it? thanks in advance for all help!

Hi, I'm viewing a 2011 Passat with original VW media screens in the headrests. I've no experience of using these in any car and was wondering how they work. From the advert photos there seems to be a USB socket. Do you simply connect your smartphone to the unit using a USB cable and whatever you're watching on your smartphone (Netflix, Amazon etc) it is shown on the screens? Are they DVD compatible as well? Hopefully someone can help.

The time has come to face the prospect of saying goodbye to what has overall been the best car I have ever owned. With only one very careful previous owner (2 years) it served me for many years until it was retired from service just two years ago, with the intention being to make it a restoration project. I now have to admit that this is not going to happen. I would prefer to find someone who will restore and cherish it but recognise that it may instead need to be an amazing donor car. It has much going for it being mostly corrosion free but does require work to restore. Pretty much everything works but would for sure need new discs and pads all round and a rep…
