Family Car Intermittent Non Starts (Re Occuring every month June, July, August..) 2012 Volkswagen Passat Estate TDI 2.0 Blue Motion. Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been searching online regarding our car and very disappointed with not being able to fix intermittent non start issues. It works and then it doesn't and if I have the patience to wait 45min to 2 hours it will start again! Any one having the same issue or am I the only one. 2014 Golf R - Should I wait and get the new Golf R or a GTI with Performance Pack? I haven't not been able to establish when exactly the new Golf R will be available to buy in the UK, but wonder if the GTI is a better bet? Will the new Golf R be as good looking as the GTI? Hi Everyone,This is my first post on here although I have owned many vw's over the years, I hope someone will be able to give me some advice. My wife drives a 2017 Vw Golf R line with the 7 speed DSG gearbox we have owned it from new(it now has 5k miles on the clock) It has a really anoying rattle that you can only hear with the windows down when going over a slightly bumpy road, you can also hear it if the car is driven past you. I am a subaru mechanic and have checked the car over and all seems ok. I have heard it could be the DSG box rattling, if it is the box should it be that bad at 5k miles? Hi all, new member here having bought my first ever VW (after 40 years of driving Ford/Vauxhall)...a Passat R Line Estate 2.0, 59 plate in lovely condition and 77k on the clock. I really want to query and get others views on the use of additives to the fuel,( Redex / Millers) but primarily relating to the Diesel Particulate Filter, Millers do an additive specifically to clean/regenerate it. Is it safe to use? Will it cause more problems than solve? Do others use it, if so does it work? Looking to keep it running flawlessly with minimal expense to dealers/garages etc! Have to say really impressed with the vehicle, massively roomy, and quick in a 'relaxed' way …

Hello to all Volkswagen fans and petrol heads just purchased another scirocco mk2 previously I had a mk1 35 yrs ago and couldn’t get rid of the need to have a replacement so now it’s arrived it’s great to be driving a true drivers car and a joy to work on the car has a interesting history VAG OWNED dry storage for 14 years until give to dealerships grandson who didn’t really want it and ended up on the open market with 2 owners and then myself in wonderful original condition anyway looking forward to catching up with all fellow owners and getting some useful information and hopefully I can be an addition to information given. Last year after my 2014 Touran 1.6 (owned from new) had a major service (40000 miles) there was an advisory note saying that the driveshaft heat shield was missing. I’m sorry to say I didn’t think much about it at the time but as I’m about to book this years service I noticed the note again. I have spent a little time searching on the web and can only find second hand heat shields from scrap merchants mostly and I don’t know the VW part number. Does anyone know if this can be bought new from a VW dealership if I give them my VIN number? I’ve obviously been driving ar…

Hello to everyone in this group thank you for accepting my request to join I've recently acquired a 2002 plate Volkswagen Beetle with electrical issues this is something I have no experience of doing but I'm advised to speak to people online to get the best advice on what to do the boot will not open and the immobiliser and alarm kicks in in mind you not put the key ignition straight away is there anything I could do to get this sorted out myself. Hi all, I'm trying to identify an exhaust given to me some time ago by a friend. Its a Twin front pipe it looks like it goes over a crossmember, as it has a hump, I think the part no on the flexible part is : 6no 253 097c.. Also on the exhaust : 05/2000….could this be the date of manufacture?.. Any help much appreciated. Stan

Hi all, Finally had to do the dad thing and give up my BMW 320i MSport and embrace being a father of 3. Picking up a 2018 Touran SE Family on Thursday. I have to say that I'm looking forward to it, glad I chose it over the SMax. As the title suggests, this will be my first VW of any sort so can't wait to join the....family !

Having not had a car for 10yrs (last one was an Audi) I am now on the quest to get myself a 2nd hand Touran... so from you well seasoned guys, what should I be looking out for - in terms of problems or issues) - I have seen a few (2006 -2010) where the owners have already changed or replaced or serviced the turbo, gearbox (DSG), cambelt and water pumps but is there anything else I should be aware of on cars that have covered between 75K-125k in mileage. Good morning in located in Trinidad. my 2010 Passat gateway module is not responding. so ABS and EP brake not working along with many other problems but these are the main issues. i have tried many mechanics who claim to be specialized but i feel like they are scamming me. i need to learn about my vehicle so i can do my own repairs when needed. please help me!
