Hey All, So haven't had to visit here in a while and I now have a problem, which I'm sure is common as heck and ya'll will probably scold me for posting a new thread about it. So It's a p1261 code along with p1264, now the one ending 61 was there when I originally bought the car (scanned it after purchase I know dumb dumb) however it sounds sweet, and runs fine (until recently I'll get to that) the 64 one was there also but I cleared them both at the time and only the 61 returned. However now the 64 has reared it's ugly head. Now I know it is VERY common for the wiring loom to go bad, due to in my opinion a Stupidly place harness. However I figured I'd ask …

2016 Passat 1.6 diesel auto. When I start a journey with aircon on and fan blowing all is ok. After about 50 miles the flow gets weaker, and after 80 miles or so, I have it cranked over to full speed fan, and hardly anything is coming out the vents. Any suggestions?

  4. Came to vehicle yesterday and car started fine but clock and mileage trip /range etc had reset to zero . Anybody come across this before ?

  5. Hello All, I'm new here so please be gentle, so I have a Passat (Shock) B6 2.0TDI 2008. Whilst she drives lovely, and the suspension feels normal. She's decided to develop a noise recently, upon going over rough terrain I can here what sounds like saucepans crashing and banging together (No I do not have a saucepan set in the boot) now from what I can see the suspension components look fine, and as mentioned I don't feel a difference in the suspension and also the handling. I have a theory MAYBE it could be an exhaust hanger has packed it's self in. However, before I become a contortionist I'd like to know if there is a typical "common fault" that would per…

  11. Hi, hope someone can help me with this one. I have a 2018 2.0l TDI Passat with a DSG box. The service intervals are set to fixed servicing. The problem is, I am getting no where near a year or the 10k miles. It is currenty asking for a service at around 6 to 7k miles. Can I get this changed to flexible serving and use long life oil? I do roughly about 15k per year with mixed driving. Cheers

Hi - when turning a corner yesterday there was a slight noise from steering column area and all the steering wheel electrical controls failed - air bag light error, no horn, no computer control, no stereo volume control. I assume this is a fuse blown but which one and where?? And any ideas on what might have caused this fault? The rest of the car works fine..

Hello all, just changed the anti roll bar bushes, swapped to poly, I was led to believe only 1 nut was flanged on each bracket, turns out both nuts on each bracket are flanged, bit of a pig of a job room wise.

VW Passat Estate B6 As the MOT was due soon, I decided to check all the brake pads. The front had plenty of wear left although the wear limit warning cable had broken, so I ‘snipped’ it off as it was not part of any management system other than a warning on the dash. I will replace the front pads when necessary, complete with its wear limit warning cable. The rear pads were quite worn, so I decided they needed attention. I replaced the rear pads and drove quite happily for a couple of days using the electric handbrake where needed. I then drove to a local post box and had to apply the handbrake as I was on a slope but on returning to the car, the hand…

  23. The connection on the turbo boost hose to the intercooler has failed again. The x2 holding lugs to the intercooler connection clip does not hold the hose in position. This is the third hose failure which happens around every 50,000mls. Is there an upgraded clip or other modification available?

  24. Started by Ziggie,

My passat has trouble opening the central locking. The garage replaced key 12 months ago. The key has now intermittently stopped unlocking ( locks ok) but I can unlock it using the other key. a garage reported that the alternate key had failed yo unlock for him . he used the backup method of opening the door. The new key cost £400 + service charge to register it to the car. Is this a common problem? any DIY method of fixing?
