Hi all, Have recently purchased a lovely Touran after having a Q5. Long story short, had a child and thought a Q5 would be sufficient for family travel when we eventually had another child, and would have been the case had it not been for twins arriving last week. A blessing nonetheless but meant I had to look at other options, and the Touran was the best fit. Absolutely love the car, and actually prefer it to my old Q5. The only issue I have is that it is a really good spec with halogen headlights. I find it quite surprising the R Line doesn’t come with LED as standard but never mind. Hi All just bought a Touran S TDI 1.9 2009 with 125000 on the clock. car has no previous service history and the last MOT has shown the following advisories. wonder if anyone can help me please I have a vw touran sport is it the pd engine I've been told 05 plate . It started running lumpy so the aa came out and without checking anything he said it was a burnt valve ??? Then another garage told me it's the injector seals ??? Then I've not been convinced I've look up YouTube etc about checking the air mass sensor so I brought a new one fitted it and it seems like the mass sensor isn't doing a thing same symptoms plugged and unplugged is there a fuse to this ?

Can anybody please tell me what the purpose is of the silver metal protruding bar (ignore magnet which just secures the cover) covered by a small plastic cover on either side of the rear door of the Touran (2014).

I am trying to access the settings menu on a Japanese 2014 Touran to change the trip computer from KM to Miles. My understanding is that usually done by pressing and holding down the rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk, although in this case that is not accessing the menu. Does anyone have any ideas? Hi guys, I’ve just joined this forum although it’s been long overdue. I’m hoping to have some help here. I’m not sure this is specific to the Touran but i’ve been driving at motorway speeds and noticed the engine seems to cut. If I press the clutch in and rev it, or change gear it kicks back in and it’s fine again. does that sound like it’s being starved? Perhaps oxygen or fuel? it’s just had some fairly large work done, oil leaks and cam belt and it had been working fine. thank you in advance Lee

My turbo blew two days ago and the engine seized. I found a replacement engine. My engine is a BXE. The numbers after the BXE are different to the numbers on my engine number sticker. The engine is out of a 57 plate touran and my car is a 08. Will the other engine fit my car as they are both 105bhp engines. Asking as do not know what the other numbers are after the BXE. Chris

I've just picked up a VW Touran 2004. Test drive was absolutely fine and on initial inspection everything looked good. However, after driving it for about 2hrs the engine sounded pretty loud. I popped the bonnet and there's excessive movement in the engine. When the engine is cool it's not so bad. I'm going to service it. But any ideas on what this could potentially be? I did pop in to a garage that I was passing by who suggested it could be the engine mounts but without a proper look they can't be sure. It's had a brand new mot - no advisories. Had a lot of work done to pass the mot and no mention of any issues with the engine mounts or anything else...

I’m having issues trying to start my elderly mums touran. No error codes are shown on diagnostic, new battery, new cam sensor, steady flow of fuel to filter, turns over but doesn’t fire. Working one minute and not the next. Anyone any ideas plz. COULD IT BE A FAULTY TANDEM PUMP? Would it cause it to not start?

Hi guys. Have not long bought a 2011 1.4 tsi. I want to upgrade it a little. Does any one know if the back box for a mk5 or 6 1.4 tsi exhaust fit? Looking at pictures of both it looks like they are similar but would they have the same hangers etc? Also will other parts fit off them like induction kits etc. Just looking for people experience before I got researching! Thanks guys!

Just got a 2023 plate Touran SE Family and getting to grips with it. Having gone through the tortuous process of moving SayNav favourites from a TomTom to the in-built system (Navigation system "Discover Media" incl. Streaming & Internet) I notice that when I display them then they are in a funny order. I was rather hoping they would be in alphabetical order, but, oh no! Guessing they might be in order they were input, but not sure. Anyway, the question is can I get the system to display A-Z or am I stuck with them like this?

Hi All, I have a 2.0 BKD Touran and have had an engine fitted (Head Gasket) since this the oil cooler keeps rubbing against the intercooler pipe, we have checked for clearance etc about 7mm, has anyone had any experience of this? Any advice would be appreciated Pete

I bought a used Touran (automatic 12 plate sag 7 speed) and really need help. The TCM was changed last week (apparently) by the dealer but the issue existed before that, although now it’s worse. When accelerating it revs a lot before it’ll change up gear and when it revs high and I let go of the pedal it sticks. It really feels like it revs very high before changing gear. When I put foot down to accelerate there’s a delay and there’s a delay between letting go of the pedal and the revs going down. On any kind of steep incline it’s revving a lot - 4000 revs- before changing gear - on other inclines the lowest it’s changing is 3000 but normally around 35…

Can anyone please tell me how to remove the tailgate trim from a VW Touran 2006. Starting with the lower section Ive taken out the screws in the recess handles and a lot of the clips will come away but there still seems to be something holding it in place?

Hi there, My Touran 2014 1.6 Tdi. Screen wash stopped working from from severe cold two weeks ago. Both wipers are working fine. Only screen wash not working. Fuse checked, not blown. Screen wash motor is in working condition (removed motor and tested separately). Any suggestion pls? Thanks in Advance Deen

Wipers have lost conecection apprantly the master wiper motor can't talk to the other. Wipers work don't work on there own from intermittent to fast slow etc. Had it plugged in hope a second hand set of motors fix the issue only fitted on mine a 2004 sport blinking marvless.

Hi Recently my average mpg readout on the digital dash has been fluctuating a lot. It's the average one with a crossed out circle symbol, not the instantaneous one. It used to take a very long time to change as it was averaged over a 600 mike trip, might go up 2mpg on a long trip for example. But recently it jumped up from 46 to 50 on a 5 mike trip, then down to 24. Now it reads about 21 but it seems to change randomly, and far faster than it should. No warning lights, 2011 model...any ideas?

Hi guys. As i do not know much about turbo diesels i thought id ask. I had my 2008 1.9tdi stage one tuned. Since the tune i notice a whistling sound when i accelerate through the gears. I read online this could be the turbo spooling up more pressure due to the tune. Or could it be the accuator itself. Is this whistling normal after a stage 1 tune? Its running 160bhp and 325lb of torque off this tune. I could not hear this prior to the tune 3mths ago but have since. It could be a biproduct of the tune but thought id ask as know very little about turbo cars in general. Thanks. Chris.

Hi I have recently bought a 2017 touran 1.5 petrol dsg. It came from a VW dealer and is under extended warranty. It has recently come up with the service required light on the dash. VW UK say it should have been serviced but dealer are saying its on a 24 month interval. Last time it was serviced it wasn't serviced by vw and when I rang the garage who serviced it they said its due now. Dealer are adamant that its 24 months and refusing to service it, instead they are saying they will turn off the service light... Can they just say its on a 24 month plan even though it hasn't had the necessary service previously. When I had a passat you had to pay forca major se…
