  3. Started by Lines,

Hi, So, I'm new here but not to forums in general (so no need to be too gentle 😉). I've got a 2013 Passat Alltrack DSG 2.0tdi 177 (B7). It's a good car but could be better! What I'm looking for is a practical and reasonably affordable way to lift it by about 1-1.5 inches (I know, shock horror, someone that doesn't want to lower a car!). I then want to be able to space the wheels by about 15-20mm each side to widen the track and then add all terrain tyres - over all similar outcome to the later (B8 variant) Atlas models available in the US (not seen any this side of the pond). All in all to give a little more ride height, slightly more ground clearance fr…

  4. Good Morning, I have just purchased a second hand Jetta, I am very happy with it, Its been over 25 years since last owning a VW, I had a very old 1967 Bettle love it, but sold it to go travelling many years ago. I am pleased I have found this site, as there is not much local info on VW here in Australia, ie forums or groups/ clubs,( that I have found anyway). A little info on the Jetta, Its a 2006 FSI 2.0 Auto, 93000k on the clock, I have just had it serviced and the Mechanic is very impressed with the condition of the car, previous owner was a friend of mine who looked after it very well, It was a good buy at a good price. Its now due to have the Timing Belt and…

  6. Started by Bainsy87,

Hi all, thank you for letting me join am 36 from Liverpool. I am a big motor fan. I have had all kinds over the years. I have 2 B6 passats highline sports estates. 2.0tdi one dsg one manual. I became a vw Dec 22. When I got my first passat manual. Love the car, the space, the driving and economy and can still move enough for today's traffic. Unfortunately the rust monsters are slowly eating it away. Spring snapped. Turbo actuator seized, intercooler gone, windscreen cracked, spring snapped, trailing arm bush gone. So The second one I bought just this weekend for £100. Its a dsg with no reverse which I aim to fix. As its in better shape than mine. Failing that figure a wa…

  7. Started by Allegedly,

Hi all, Rob here, newbie. I'm new to VW and thought I'd look for a club/site where I can get answers to any questions and maybe contribute to others queries. I just bought my son a 2004 Polo 1.4tdi Mk4 (9n) and am still learning my way around the car. Needs a bit of attention but as a long time Land Rover driver, I'm reasonable handy with a a spanner....And a grinder, big hammer, gas axe and tea drinking! Hope everyone's well in these uncertain times. Regards Rob

  8. Started by Milano,

As you can guess from the username I'm from Milan, moved over a couple of years ago. I had to leave my dear VW scirocco over there cause it was quite old and it would have costed me too much driving it all the way to England. As I've had some expenses in this period I had to use the bus, but now I want to get a "new" old one XD

Hi there, I've just joined and looking forward to getting my new (used) High Up! in the next week. Fingers crossed weather not too awful. Previous car was a 2CV which I just sold within first few hours of the advert being placed online. See attached pic, really sad to see it go as owned from new . Now I just have to learn how to drive a normal car again after 30 years . Hope it is easy, test driving car on Saturday. Perhaps everyone could keep of the roads on Saturday afternoon. Ha Ha.

  11. Started by Doc817,

Hi Everyone, new to VW. Bought myself a 2006 Passat saloon BKP engine in December with 94000 on the clock. Not much service history with it but has had timing belt W/P and clutch done at 75000. Few issues I have noticed. I have a sunroof and when it rains heavy I get a leak down the A pillar and through the sun visor on the passenger side. Anything I can do apart from the easy silicone the sunroof? I suspect its a drainage problem blocked or dislodged. Also front arches are bubbling a small amount does VW cover this in the 12 year rust warranty. Car is 12 years old in August. If so how do you go about get it sorted? Thanks in anticipation …

  13. Started by Phil D,

Hi folks, New to this forum. My mk7 2017 facelift Golf has developed a strange USB issue. When I plug an Android phone in it randomly tells me "Failed to connect to USB". It does work sometimes but often fails. For instance if using Google Maps it can disconnect. I've changed the phone from a Motorola to a Google Pixel and have used 3 separate Type C cables but the problem is still there. This only started to happen at the start of the year. The socket rarely gets unplugged so wear and tear would be unlikely. Has anybody experienced this? It isn't the end of the world but I was hoping for a nice cheap fix. Thanks Phil

Hi folks, I'm just introducing myself, Im T. I just bought an Touran 2.0 Match dsg auto box a couple of months ago. This is my first VW for over 40+ years. (last one was a 1962 lhd beetle) I love the Touran but it had to have a new flywheel because after a couple of weeks driving it, it developed well hell of a rattle, good job i bought an extended warranty at the same time, Its a 2010 plate reg only done 69000 since new, it is immaculate inside and just a very few marks on the exterior, already been touched and blended in. I think i paid over the odds for it but hey who's counting. It was dealers price but as soon as i test drove it, it was m…

  21. Hi So I’m going to look at a 2001 1.8T (180) Golf GTi. It looks very clean in the pictures. Has a great amount of service history and the MOTs haven’t had a tremendous amount of problems to deal with from what I’ve seen. It’s only got 89k on the clock which looks correct going by the MOTs. Paying £1500 for it. And includes the Anniversary wheels too. Is this a good price depending on the overall condition? Also is there anything I need to look for in particular. Any major issues they suffer with that someone with very minimal mechanical knowledge would be able to spot. I’ve attached a photo of the car. Includes a winter pack with heated …

  22. Started by Garry Cook,

Hi, my father died recently, and I'm trying to write his eulogy, but I'm struggling to remember details of a thing that had been very dear to him. Back in the 70's he was a very active member of the VW owners club near Lincoln. I believe that it was based at the dealer ship Green's of Faldingworth. Am I asking the right people? Does anyone remember the club? My father was Colin Cook of Gainsborough. Fingers crossed.

Hello, I am looking to purchase a T4 (I think, T4 - or other kind maybe!) I have a smallish budget, say around £7,000 but don;t want to make a mistake and obtain anything that wants a lot spent on it, etc. Any advice, ideas and information very welcome. I live close to Plymouth, Devon
