my Dad's 1973 beetle is not well, he is not sure how to set and adjust carbs; it drives like it's firing on 3 1/2 cylinders not 4. any advice would be appreciated. Eastbourne

In the last couple of weeks my Golf Plus TDi has developed a strange battery drain issue. If I leave the car unlocked overnight it starts fine the following morning. If I lock it at night it’s totally flat the following morning. Anyone else experienced this or know a likely fix? TIA Stuart

Hi, As per the title my wife 07 eos developed a weird issue on a long trip last week. Suddenly whilst driving the check engine light came on and the interior fan started going up and down with the accelerator pedal. I took it in to have any fault codes read and it showed up a bunch if codes...all 4 glow plugs, plus a pressure leak/ swirl flap fault? When the codes were cleared they have not returned BUT the interior fan is still coming in when accelerating and speeds up and slows down with the accelerator. This is making me consider a possible wiring issue with a possible cut somewhere in the harness causing a short and meaning that the codes may even not…

I have a 2007 Touran which came with (2nd hand) a multifunctional steering wheel with the paddles for the DGS gearbox and it all works very fun.. but I think it is looking in need of replacement to clean things up a bit - so my question is, from which other newer VW can I get a replacemnt.. my local VW say they do not know as all they would do is replace it with an original wheel.. I really like the look of the new VW Golf R steering wheel though my car has the cruise control on the left hand stalk..

Hi guys, got a mk8 with the above fault. It was in a smash but all error codes cleared new seatbelts etc so no airbag light or anything. Now digital climate control is not working due to above fault. I am also getting fault code b109ef0. Does anybody know the standard coding for the hvac fault so I can overwrite with vcds? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Hey, Good day. I have a problem with my new beetles 2001 2.0 l engine.. Automatic transmission.. For the past 2 weeks whenever I go on a long way of 140 km/hr Start observing a very rough down shift and I got weird about this issue and stopped aside and then went back to continue my way but unfortunately the gear doesn't shift up to 2 moreover the the rpm reaches to 4 & 5 without shifting.. So to solve this issue temporary i have to stop the car remove the key and then start it again.. Is there any solution for my vw beetles.?? inbound1294769119114741967.mp4

Hi, I am a newbie on here, please be gentle. Would someone on here please provide some advise on a Japanese made Bosch fuel injection pump ( diesel ) part number 0 470 504 012. I would like to know the resistance value of the spill control solenoid/electromagnet, part number 479763-1220. I have a feeling that the one on this pump may have "burnt out". Would anyone have the Bosch yellow publication giving principle of operation and hopefully tech details please. Thanks in advance. rich.

I purchased a VW Sharan 1.4TSI 2011 via a private sale in July this year. I needed a 7-seater with the imminent arrival of twins (we already have 3 kids!) and after a lot of research decided that the Sharan fitted the bill. Two issues I need help with. Firstly the mileage display shows ongoing fuel consumption (30.5 mpg which is 50% better in my new Touareg than in the old one) since I had the car, shows consumption on a momentary basis etc.. I want to be able to see the consumption on a specific journey - for example if i decide to drive to Brussels how can I get it to tell me the mpg achieved on that journey? Secondly how can I get it to boot up faster? Because the heated windscreen and heated steering wheel only turn on through the environmental controls on the computer, I have to sit in a damn cold car waiting the two or three minutes for the computer to boot up before I can start to d…

Hi recently done a g28 sensor and rms on a 2014 crafter 2.0 using the special pressing/ aligning tool. Starts and runs bang on until you drive it. Getting p0322 no crank signal. Where did I go wrong? Cheers

Can you advise on a compatible rear mounted cycle carrier that will fit my VW UP 2012. My car is leased so I don't want to purchase the roof mounted carrier (as advised by my local dealer) as it's too expensive. I have also spoken to a local towbar company last year and they advise the load weight of the car restricts the installation of a towbar. I thought a manufacturer may have made a suitable rear mounted cycle carrier now that the UP has been out on the market for a year. Much appreciate any feedback.

Hi, I bought my daughter a 2007 VW FOX about a year ago. She has recently had a baby and was looking to see how to disable the passenger dash air bag so she can put the baby seat in the front seat facing the rear. There doesn't seem to be a disable switch anywhere and the owner manual says only a VW dealer can do this. Called local dealer and they say the Fox is the only one they can't do !! Apart from removing the air bag fuse !!! which i guess will disable all air bags , anyone here got a solution ? Thanks. Mike.

Hi all, I've purchased a passat b6 bkp dsg with no reverse gear. When I first got the car it worked after being parked up for a couple of months. I've scanned it with Carly I will attach the errors. As since the car has lost reverse again and has a error stored in the gearbox and something to do with solenoid 3. I wanted to know if there is anything that can cause this I.e low oil or a service may cure. Or would you recommend removing the unit and repair?

Hi, My 2012, 2ltr Bluemotion Passat DSG has recently started to give me some gear selection problems. Basically it is an occasional problem, where ,after starting the car ,it is extremely difficult to move the gear selector leaver out of the Park position. It requires extreme force to move the leaver into drive. My vehicle is still under warranty but before taking it into the local dealer, I wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar problem. Would be grateful for any info. on this problem ,as it is very inconvenient to get to the dealer. Thanks Marsh

VW Beetle 2004 2ltr petrol Had a sensor problem sensor identified using diagnostic unit Lambda sensor on catalytic convertor changed fault cleared and car ok for two days fault reappeared giving code for crank shaft car would not start.Sensor changed as well as timing belt fault cleared car ok for two days same fault appeared ECU removed and found to be wet sent for testing came back as ok put back into car fault cleared car again good for two days same fault back and car will not start anyone got a clue
