Hi, looking to see if anyone has had this kind of issue before please? I've been told its the relay and that would make perfect sense to me, but I cant for the life of me find out which relay it is on the relay board under the steering behind the fuse box? Help please . Ok I know that when the bonnet / Hood is open, the micro switch in the bonnet catch stops the 2 front wipers and the screen wash from working as standard. We initially thought a faulty bonnet switch was causing our issue of the wipers acting very strange, however when they act strange and don't work the screen wash still works so that eliminates it…

Hi guys, I’ve just joined this forum although it’s been long overdue. I’m hoping to have some help here. I’m not sure this is specific to the Touran but i’ve been driving at motorway speeds and noticed the engine seems to cut. If I press the clutch in and rev it, or change gear it kicks back in and it’s fine again. does that sound like it’s being starved? Perhaps oxygen or fuel? it’s just had some fairly large work done, oil leaks and cam belt and it had been working fine. thank you in advance Lee

I've just picked up a VW Touran 2004. Test drive was absolutely fine and on initial inspection everything looked good. However, after driving it for about 2hrs the engine sounded pretty loud. I popped the bonnet and there's excessive movement in the engine. When the engine is cool it's not so bad. I'm going to service it. But any ideas on what this could potentially be? I did pop in to a garage that I was passing by who suggested it could be the engine mounts but without a proper look they can't be sure. It's had a brand new mot - no advisories. Had a lot of work done to pass the mot and no mention of any issues with the engine mounts or anything else...

Hi, I have a 2005 1.9 TDI. Has anyone any idea where the relay is for the front wipers please? I've taken every single relay out one by one from the ralay board behind the fuse box under the steering and the wipers kept working so it's none of them. Help. Or is it a simple case that the wipers have no relay? Thanks in advance

Hi all Was wondering if anyone could help me to understand something on a 2004 vw touran 1.9 TDI My brake pad wear indictior connector is broken therefore need to replace the loom end and not the brake pad +the sensor that comes with it, the question I have is does the abs cable run into the same loom, Ie 2 cables travels up into 1 and through the wing bulkhead? What I'm seeing is 1 cable comes through the wing bulkhead down to a upside down Y piece and one goes to the brake pad wear sensor and the other to the abs Thank you in advance! 🙏

Hi, Can anyone offer advice on how to sort out a problem with our cabin fan switch. We have had our Touran since 2012 when I retired, we have done a lot of miles touring in it, and it's been fantastic. We have always had it serviced by the main dealer and had them sort out any niggles. As it is getting a bit old we have decided that the main dealer prices are a bit disproportionate to its value now but it has developed a fault which I suspect may be a main dealer job and would like a bit of advice before splashing out for that. The cabin fan switch is only working on #3 and #4. If the switch is just a direct line to the fan with different resisters for eac…

OK, so the wife wanted a 7 seater and I found this 2005 1.9tdi touran. Issues: Engine fault (turned out to be brake pedal switch, replaced this and things got slightly better...) then... Emission fault (did a reasonable run thinking dpf and it cleared. (not it's back.. And I've just done a 700 mile weekend) Power loss. Can be driving all fine and then suddenly it's as though the turbo has stopped working. Turn engine off, start again and is fine. Seems sometimes if I slam the brakes it happens, other times I can literally just be driving laing the road. Starting issue. I understand this is the starter motor, does anyone know if this is a strai…

Hi All. I have a 2007 Touran 170 sport. In January this year in heavy rain I drove through a very deep puddle. The car continued to drive for another 20mins and stood on tick over until I put it into drive then the engine cut out and wouldn't start. I had the car recovered and a mechanic have a look at it. The injectors are still original but the wiring is new. The injectors were swapped around but fault was still on No1 Cylinder. The ECU was sent away for inspection and came back clean. Does anyone have any idea what to do next.

I purchased a 2007 Touran 1.9tdi for Towing after my Kia Carens refused to start, fitted my own tow ball and dual electrics and Towed it to Santa Pod. 36 Miles short of the Pod it was pulling back, stalling and finally packed up to the east of Brackley on the A43!! Problem one, found a local rescue garage and £420 later Caravan is at the Pod and the Car was dropped at Johns Garage at Brackley, Im giving the Garage a plug here! Next day 8am Garage calls its the fuel pump, VW bits easy to get and Work time half what it is in Southampton so £246 lighter new pump fitted and the man hours 2.5 and £100, not bad Broke down at 2pm fixed by 2pm next day! Taxi c…

hi guys hoping for some help regarding my airbags I dont own a vcds so can’t dig into the faults too much was hoping one of you gurus would be able to shed some light on these and maybe offer a solution apart from the obvious changing out the air bags. From what I can see these haven’t deployed and look to be in tact so at a bit of a loss as to what my next t steps would be I’ve done the usual unplugging and checking the connections all look ok but airbag fault still remains even after running a test and clearing outstanding faults. TIA Matt

I am retired in Spain. I have just purchased a 2014 Touran 2.0 TDI. it has come to me with no books at all. I have asked the dealer (main dealer in Malaga) for the Service book but a handbook from him is of little use as my Spanish will not be up to it. Any ideas where I can get an English language handbook ? VW customer service (UK) are ignorant and don't even answer my e-mails.

Hi all, looking for a little advice, my Son has bought a 2010 1.6 Touran (Diesel) had it for around 3 months, the Car has developed a few issues recently, ie: Lack of power, his wife broke down travelling to relatives down south last week and had to call the AA, when he arrived he plugged in to the diagnostic socket it showed an EGR Fault which he cleared and said a sensor was at fault(cheap fix he said)and sent Her on Her way, however on the return journey the fault occurred again, She managed to limp home and took the Car to a local garage, they did not have a clue and said it could be a valve or electrics. So with the VW Emissions scandal being widely talked about I am…

Just got a 2023 plate Touran SE Family and getting to grips with it. Having gone through the tortuous process of moving SayNav favourites from a TomTom to the in-built system (Navigation system "Discover Media" incl. Streaming & Internet) I notice that when I display them then they are in a funny order. I was rather hoping they would be in alphabetical order, but, oh no! Guessing they might be in order they were input, but not sure. Anyway, the question is can I get the system to display A-Z or am I stuck with them like this?

It started running lumpy so the aa came out and without checking anything he said it was a burnt valve ??? Then another garage told me it's the injector seals ??? Then I've not been convinced I've look up YouTube etc about checking the air mass sensor so I brought a new one fitted it and it seems like the mass sensor isn't doing a thing same symptoms plugged and unplugged is there a fuse to this ?

Everyday when I start driving and the car is cold I get an exclamation mark on the cruise control and the car enters "emergence mode". I have to switch off and on the car in order to the error goes away. When the car gets warm it doesn't happen at all. Has anyone ever had something similar? Thanks, Rodolfo

Hi, any opinion would be appreciated. A few months ago my 2006 Touran's had a clutch and fly wheel replacement. The mechanic said there had been only 20ml of transmission oil when they drained it prior to replacing. He said there was probably a leak but I should just top it up with transmission fluid every 6 months or so, it's too expensive to replace the housing. There was a really unpleasant grinding noise as I drove the car away. I took it straight back to the garage. The mechanic said that there was an issue with one clutch/housing mount but it would not effect anything and it was fine to drive! Later that day an intercooler pipe came loose. Then I…
