Hi all, thank you for letting me join am 36 from Liverpool. I am a big motor fan. I have had all kinds over the years. I have 2 B6 passats highline sports estates. 2.0tdi one dsg one manual. I became a vw Dec 22. When I got my first passat manual. Love the car, the space, the driving and economy and can still move enough for today's traffic. Unfortunately the rust monsters are slowly eating it away. Spring snapped. Turbo actuator seized, intercooler gone, windscreen cracked, spring snapped, trailing arm bush gone. Hi thanks for letting me join. I’m hoping you extremely knowledgeable VW owners will be able to help me. Last year after my 2014 Touran 1.6 (owned from new) had a major service (40000 miles) there was an advisory note saying that the driveshaft heat shield was missing. I’m sorry to say I didn’t think much about it at the time but as I’m about to book this years service I noticed the note again. I have spent a little time searching on the web and can only find second hand heat shields from scrap merchants mostly and I don’t know the VW part number. Does anyone know if this can be bought new from a VW dealership if I give them my VIN number? I’ve obviously been driving ar…

Just got rid of my MK4 GTI German Import (Special little details on it, lights etc ) Now running a Caddy, bought standard with 12k on the clock, used for mountainbiking, camping ( all converted in the rear, tv's etc) and allround tomfoolery. Some mods include, VW Golf Front Coilovers Rear Axle Flip Axle re-located Rear insulated and carpeted (Bed and storage too) TV/electronics install Some re-trimming in the cab Wheels - wrapped in proper tyres (falkens) Tidying up the engine ready for a re-map with pipework and cone filter Brake upgrade to drilled and vented Zinc Plated EBC. I had to leave my dear VW scirocco over there cause it was quite old and it would have costed me too much driving it all the way to England. Hi all, I'm trying to identify an exhaust given to me some time ago by a friend. Its a Twin front pipe it looks like it goes over a crossmember, as it has a hump, I think the part no on the flexible part is : 6no 253 097c.. Also on the exhaust : 05/2000….could this be the date of manufacture?.. Any help much appreciated. Stan

Hi. I don't usually join vehicle-brand owner forums but VW vans/tourers seem to be a unique bunch. Will be picking up my new-to-me low-mileage 2012 VW Touran either tomorrow or Thursday and is an upgrade from my micro-micro camper Ford Fiesta that has taken me on many epic adventures...very sad to see it go but need the space. Only reason it was in my price range was because of missing middle-row seats. Will be doing a moderate van build with it so will keep an eye out here for ideas...hoping to bring the ideas of the Fiesta build with me as much as possible
