Hello to everyone in this group thank you for accepting my request to join I've recently acquired a 2002 plate Volkswagen Beetle with electrical issues this is something I have no experience of doing but I'm advised to speak to people online to get the best advice on what to do the boot will not open and the immobiliser and alarm kicks in in mind you not put the key ignition straight away is there anything I could do to get this sorted out myself. Hi all, I'm trying to identify an exhaust given to me some time ago by a friend. Its a Twin front pipe it looks like it goes over a crossmember, as it has a hump, I think the part no on the flexible part is : 6no 253 097c.. Also on the exhaust : 05/2000….could this be the date of manufacture?.. Any help much appreciated. Stan

My old Kia carens has been a non starter for a year, had enough and am scrapping it, Santa Pod in a couple of weeks time and needed a tow car so here I am with a 2007 1.9TDi Touran, Towbar fitted (by me) double electrics wired (by me). Also have a Ventura Roof tent fitted for short weekends. After 40mph I get a drone from the front, jacked up all four corners spun wheels not bearings! Anyone here had problems with main pulley, Engine mounts or found a similar drone they have silenced? No steering twitch noticed or vibration under braking but front brakes need sorting they dont bite hard Tony

Hi. I don't usually join vehicle-brand owner forums but VW vans/tourers seem to be a unique bunch. Will be picking up my new-to-me low-mileage 2012 VW Touran either tomorrow or Thursday and is an upgrade from my micro-micro camper Ford Fiesta that has taken me on many epic adventures...very sad to see it go but need the space. Only reason it was in my price range was because of missing middle-row seats. Will be doing a moderate van build with it so will keep an eye out here for ideas...hoping to bring the ideas of the Fiesta build with me as much as possible

Hi I just joined, looking for some advice please. I have an old girl 2000 Golf tdi and at the moment she's unable to go out of drives very often (my ill health, not hers). I need to keep her going in case there's a medical emergency and breakdown cover is limited re. repeat call outs for the same problem. So I'm pretty desperate. I've been looking for a compatible solar powered battery maintainer. I've read that the AA one that has good reviews but the ad says it's for diesels from 2004 onwards, an EOBD socket is required. Hi guys im new here. I have been on the fordownersclub.co.uk site as previously had a mk2 focus titanium and after hassle with a dealer I decided change was necessary so I traded my ford for a 55 plate golf gti with 36000 miles on the clock. I think its also fair to say the only thing I miss is my lack of music connectivity and Bluetooth. The power is just sensational and think the car is brilliant. I am very open to subtle mod ideas maybe more major ones in near future as only had car a week and a bit. Thanks for reading I look forward to talking to you and reading your feedback

Hi all, new member here having bought my first ever VW (after 40 years of driving Ford/Vauxhall)...a Passat R Line Estate 2.0, 59 plate in lovely condition and 77k on the clock. I really want to query and get others views on the use of additives to the fuel,( Redex / Millers) but primarily relating to the Diesel Particulate Filter, Millers do an additive specifically to clean/regenerate it. Is it safe to use? Will it cause more problems than solve? Do others use it, if so does it work? Looking to keep it running flawlessly with minimal expense to dealers/garages etc! Have to say really impressed with the vehicle, massively roomy, and quick in a 'relaxed' way …

Hi Guys, Just thought i'd come on here and introduce myself. I'm Steve, From Ipswich Suffolk. My pride and joy is a well used 1999, Mk 4 (Yeah i know Mk 3.5) 2L Golf Cabriolet Aventgarde :) She'e see better days, does need a little TLC... but after 127,000 miles she's still going strong. My Second ever car 17 years ago was a 1.1 Mk1 Golf, I loved that little car but unfortunately she died after about 6 months of me boy racering around lol. Havent owned a Dub since... until 0ct 2012 when I bought my Cabby... its re-lit my flame for all things VW, hopefully money permitting i'll be off to some Dub festivals this summer :) Take it easy... it's good to be in the club …

Hey, I'm not currently a VW owner technically but hopefully will be soon. Looking to buy a new Polo or Golf very soon but undecided on which to go for! I have heard good things about the new Polo and love the new Golf look that it has, but if I want a Polo because it looks like a Golf, why not just spend the extra and get a golf!? Anyway, any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated, anything I should be aware of? Any engines/models to avoid? Anybody got any suggestions on trustworthy sites online where i might be able to get a good deal? I would like to buy brand new and will be visiting our local dealer this weekend :) Thank you!

hi im new here was hoping to gain some useful information from other members. i have a 1.9tdi se passat on a 56 plate i have started to have a bit of trouble with it i have no warning lights on the dash yet for some reason my car keeps losing power and going into limp/safe mode usually after ive been out for a while and want to overtake or accelerating up a hill or small incline on the motorway. when i switch the engine off and turn it back on it resets itself and runs perfect for a while then all of a sudden it will happen again.

Hi, Can you guys help me please I purchased a new set of wheels and tyres for my 2008 Touareg 2.5TDI R5. unfortunately they do not fit. They were BK Racing alloys with tyres 275/45/20 (9.5j) The supplier insisted these would fit and on trying one I found that they protruded about 30mm out of the arches. Can any body help me in getting the right wheel and tyres for my car. the offset I believe is 5x120. I spent ages contacting suppliers and was promised these would fit but unfortunately they did not.
