Hi everyone, I have a 2006 golf mk5 1.6 fsi and I have been facing a problem with the catalyst converter for 2 months now. Emissions control warning light has been on for a while. Had lamda sensor changed last month and everything was fine then 2days ago light came back on. Any idea what the issue could be. Did a computer check and 2 faults came up shown in the image. Your advice would be highly appreciated.

Hi I’m hoping for some advice on a problem with the monopoint throttle body. Engine fires up and then dies instantly. When I restart the same problem. The rubber throttle body mount (gasket) split and the running problem started after replacing the rubber mount. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air idle switch. Is it likely the monopoint fuel injector is faulty and is causing the problem or is it possibly something else? (I’m wonderingif it is possible to test the injector before tracking down a replacement?). Fuel is getting through when turning over the engine with the starter motor. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Hi guys, Bit of a newbie question, but try as I might, I can't get the dust covered off the back of my headlight units. I know you're meant to turn it one way, but I've tried (both directions) and they will not budge. I've got a AFS Bend lighting error on my mk7 Golf. Reading up, most people say to change the bulbs. Being a "easy fix" I thought I'd try swapping the h7 bulbs but I'm stuck at the dust covers. Any ideas?

Hello, I am selling my 2000 reg diesel silver 1.9 GT TDI MK4 Golf. She has done a lot of mileage at c. 234,000, but she is still going strong. It's a 6 speed gear box. The turbo has slowed down power wise, and it needs cleaning out, as stated by my mechanic. Internal wear and tear but the body is in very good condition with only a little rust on the bottom of the driver's door. I loved this car; the only reason I am selling is I bought another petrol car for a very good deal (petrol is more economical for me now, as city driving rather than long distance). I would break her as she would make a fair bit in parts, but I just simply don't have the time or space to do so. MOT…

Hi all I have a golf gtd 2.0 , hope someone can help? Noticed a few days ago that the clutch pedal was releasing slowly, only done it first thing in the morning then appeared to be fine !took the vehicle vw they investigated and told me that the problem is the gear box ? I don’t really understand why as the vehicle seems to go through the gears nicely with no problems ! They quoted me £600-£800 and worst case scenario up to£2000 if they find an issue with clutch or fly whel? Anyone had similar issues? I’m aware of some issues with the slow release valve . tia

Hi everyone. I've just bought a Golf Mk7 2019. Which is the best OBD2 software for a Win10 PC to diagnose faults, unlock features, and perhaps tweak the ECU. ? Thanks.

Evening Folks I have recently put in an order for the new Golf GTE. I am in the process of getting a charging station fitted. I have been recommended to fit a BG SYNC EV station, with the WiFi turned off. This would be due to a poor signal where I am. Is it possible to start and stop charge times from the car, so I can use night tariffs? Any help, would be much appreciated. Dave

Hello, I'm a newbie to the forums, and have a door lock issue with my Golf Mk6 4 door 2009 Golf. The right rear door with not lock with the fob. All the other doors lock ok and I can hear the click mechanism working for those doors. I can lock the door manually using the screw override turn on the door (using a flat head screwdriver or similar). Then when unlocking using the fob again, it unlocks all the 4 doors fine. I have tried some WD40 on the latch itself, but this has not helped (didn't expect it to really) There are no reported errors when checking the ECU for error codes. Is there anything else to try and diagnose the problem before going an…

Any advice welcome. As I said in title I have just done the head gasket on my golf, all the timing marks line up I turned it over by hand to make sure it was not banging against the valves all good. All the marks still line up all the elec sockets back on and the ht leads are in the same order as they came off ie shortest to the closest ect. When I turn it over it dose fire sometimes but dose not start. The only thing I can see that might cause a problem is on the right hand side of the cam cover is a little bracket with what looks like a earth strap comming of it. Well the other end is not attached to anything, I can't remember taking it off when I stripped it down weat…

I posted a while ago regarding the issues I’m having getting this car to run again🤨 advised the problem of the car starting and then a cutting out is an over fuelling issue?? so far I’ve changed the throttle body which is a monopoint injection and not rocking horse shit but close. I’ve swapped the ecu, de-coked all the pipes running from the engine block to the throttle body, replaced, repaired and tested the vacuum pipes which are all good as far as I can tell. Run the engine to test every sensor independently with no change to the problem. Any ideas please ??
