Hi all this is a long story sorry.ok here goes I fitted glow plugs in a 56 plate Passat 2.0 about 3 years ago not ones as said on a forum about 2 days later the engine management light came on I plugged in and it said glow plug 1 fault 2 fault 3 fault 4 fault so told my friend it could be wrong plugs but it started fine so 3 years down the line he has bought a new car and gave this car to me so I took rocker cover off took out the plugs and everyone goosed I thought strange but on my snap on machine it says there is a short on everyone testes them right enough goosed so then got me test light and tested every wire that goes to the plugs all ok there so I was puzzled I hav…

2002 passat check engine light on and we have to turn over twice before it starts. EVAC and emission. Repair shop said it's going to cost $1000 for the hoses alone. Is this generally the cost of hoses. My goodness.

Hi all hoping someone here maybe able to point me in the right direction. I have a B7 2011 VW Passat Bluemotion TDI. A few weeks back I had an error message come up on the info screen saying TPMS fault, system unavailable along with the permanent yellow TPMS light on the dash. I have a 2016 Passat SE TD Business 2016 Estate Car. A friend who frequently travels in my car has suffered a concussion incident recently that may have caused a brain injury. She reports that she is badly affected by a side to side rocking motion which she likens to a rocking boat. Also that my car is shaken by almost every bump on an uneven road surface and she feels it badly. I also feel it, but I am not shaken and to me it is just part of the normal process of the suspension absorbing the shocks from the uneven surface. Hi Simple question hopefully. I loaded about 125kg of sand into the boot of my car. Is this a safe load for the rear suspension? There was nothing else in the car other than me, and I am only about 75kg. Just a bit concerned it seemed lower the next day, although could be imagining that. Have struggled to work out what the car can take from the manual. Any feedback would be appreciated. Many thanks

Hi I'm new to the forum so if this topic has been extensively covered I'm sorry. I've just bought a 2007 VW Passat TDI sport estate. When you start it up from cold it's a bit lumpy at idle, but the when it's been left to warm up it's smells quiet bad, like a really old burnt out engine. It'll tickover nicely when warm but there seems to be a lot of black / grey smoke coming out the exhaust. Are these signs of a blocked up EGR valve or something else. Please help, I've only just bought the car and I just hope it's not a lemon cheers Gary 😂

Hello there , sorry if this has already been covered I got a 2005 Passat saloon 2.0 tdi yesterday from a family member its all good apart apart from the swimming pools in the drivers side foot wells front and back even in dry conditions it it keeps flowing in even after emptied out can anyone help ? I went out to my car yesterday and tried to open it with the key fob, nothing happened I discovered that the car was unlocked. When I tried to start it, lights flashed and it started clicking, this happened a couple of times then it went completely blank no flashing or clicking. Would this be caused if the battery drained and could it be cured if I get a jump start? My car is a 56 plate Passat

The time has unfortunately come where I need to part ways with my Passat🙁 Repairs are needed on 3 pulleys (viscus bearing has seized), new fan belt and a new water pump and fixings (which houses the aforementioned viscus bearing). The quotes for repair mean it is no longer financially viable for me to keep the car. A new alternator was fitted 12 months ago, alloys are in ok condition and a couple of months ago I had the car Terracleaned by Fuel Rectifiers which cleared years of built up dirt from inside the engine. Hi all. Odd problem with a Passat B7 1.6Tdi Bluemotion 2012. Symptoms: Traveling at a steady ~50 on a clear road. Glowplug indicator started flashing and car went into limp mode. Got to where we were going and restarted a few hours later: Car seemed fine. Booked it in to be looked at. (Independent VW specialist) He did an ODB scan and advised he saw “Low manifold pressure” (from memory) which suggested air leak in the intake system He checked hoses, ducts and pipework and found no problem. Just bought a 2006 Passat Estate for my daughter. The door mirrors are electrically adjustable but have no provision for folding on the control knob. Can they be just pushed in when parking in tight areas? Reluctant to try too hard as there seems a lot of resistance. Thanks

Just bought a Passat, and the locking system confuses me. The key fob will wirelessly open the front two doors but only locks the drivers door, the rear two doors just remain locked. If I open the drivers door with the key the alarm sounds. Is this normal or is there something adrift with my remote locking system?
