Hi....welcome to the Forum The fact that it is 'on song' at higher revs suggests that it is something like a vacuum/air leak in the in the inlet manifold or associated trunking which is causing the lumpy running. A quick emissions test (Oxygen levels) which if higher than zero suggests thats the fault. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor

Hi Chris...welcome to the Forum Sorry for the late reply, missed this post. You could try to close off the 'Fresh Air' vents in the heating system to just allow cabin temperature to remain constant as opposed to outside air affecting the balance (e.g. cold outside + warmer inside = condensation) Let us know what you find works to resolve this Cheers, Trevor

Hi Thanos...welcome to the Forum I suppose it is a case of taking what you're given in this case, although I would ask people to take off their shoes upon getting in :-)

I would contact your local VAG dealer to find out....don't think its cheap though

The service would be straight forward enough, nuts and bolts, however you would need special oils for the transmission and would need to look up any special information relating to replacing the fluids. Not sure that there are any special tools needed though Let us know how you get on with it

Hi....welcome to the Forum I think you will need to bite the bullet and remove the manifold as they seem to build the engines that way now....more work but gives you a chance to clean up the manifold, throttle body and breather system as well.

I think it is quite common for the clutch pedal to creak in use but not sure about the whining noise though....keep an eye (or ear) on that one to hear if it gets any worse over time.

It would probably be best to Google the codes as there is a huge amount of information available on the internet and can be overwhelming sometimes. Also, be aware that there are historic faults and current faults so maybe worth clearing all codes from memory before carrying out a new scan to see which are currently an issue. Have fun !

I take it the new one is all okay?

I had one a while back and for what it costs it was ideal for most reprogramming tasks....go for it, you can always sell it on if you don't use it enough

Not sure with this one....in theory it should work although I would imagine it would have to be programme into the car...but worth giving it a try and if not, then sell the wheel back on as mostly they are quite desirable and plenty of people looking for them.

I think that will be all you need as long as it powers up then to programme it all in with VAGcom which shouldn't be too difficult

Hi .....welcome to the Forum I would definitely say that if the loom is there with the plugs and they attach to the correct control units (not very likely) but it will almost definitely need programming into the car with VAGCom or similar equipment for the new electronics to be recognised by the vehicle. Hi EFMax...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard I think it is a case of trying to find the best maintained car for your money. It may not always be the lowest mileage car and I think that it seems to be the case with most vehicles...if it has full dealer history then it should have had recalls and updates which will go a long way to ensuring the car has had the best start in life. Avoid 'school run' cars....found too many to be abused on the suspension, brakes and general wear & tear to the engine, transmission, body and interior.
