Hi....welcome to the Forum If it is an old battery then chances are it has failed. Worth getting the charge rate tested to see if the alternator is working ok and if so then replace the battery and that should resolve the issue. Cheers, Trevor

It's certainly worth pulling it apart as long as it comes apart easily as opposed to wrecking it in the process. You never know what you may find and it could be an easy fix

I believe this is a common fault with this system .... other forum posts suggest either an update or internal fault Let us know what you find

You should be able to buy a complete set of door and steering locks, ECU and any other components needed to just plug and play...done it on a Honda and Renault before. Not sure of cost on eBay or whether it is cheaper to buy the correctly programmed key, sorry

mk 5 golf 1.6 fsi 2004 HELP!!!
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to sickofcarsbob's topic in Technical Help
Oh dear! that seems quite catastrophic. I would imagine that there is a fault in the electrical wiring that is shorting to earth. This would be the reason the fuse has blown and why the battery is discharging rapidly. I would take the car to an auto-electrician to diagnose the cause before any serious damage to the electrical system occurs -
not sure really....may be available for another country possibly
-
absolutely, should be plenty of power from the engine to tow with

Hi...welcome to the Forum In general, the diesel Sharan engine is a good one but not used in built up areas where it can clog up over time. The petrol engine therefore would be a better option for local driving

Passat cc reverse camera stuck open
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to Cc diesel's topic in Technical Help
HI....welcome to the Forum I'm not sure on this one, would probably contact your VW dealer and see if there is a revised version that resolves this issue. Seems to be an issue with this camera across the range so surely they must have revised it over time -
Hi Glynn....welcome to the Forum What are the symptoms your car is displaying which leads you to the above conclusion?

Hi Simon.....welcome to the Forum You should be able to source one through any good motor factors as long as the other sections have not been modified then it should just fit straight in. Let us know what you find

Hi Kirky....welcome to the Forum Lovely Touareg and great car to drive Good to have you onboard

Hi Rob Common problem this one, but can't seem to find any definitive answer but suggested faults lie in the Haldex controller or even the oil level being low in the unit....worth checking out everything related to the electrical connections to and from the unit. Let us know what you find

Auxiliary port location
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to paradoxelite's topic in Volkswagen Golf Club
Hi....welcome to the Forum The auxiliary port is at the back of the unit and you would need to acquire one of these to fit into it once you have removed the unit and found somewhere to route it to (e.g. the glovebox) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Seat-Skoda-Aux-IN-Input-Adapter-for-IPOD-MP3-/270727493449?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f089db749 -
Hi You should be able to obtain the code from a local VW dealer.....may have to go in for them to look it up and take the registration documents with you but otherwise they usually do this for free

Polo spluttering on pull off
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to Winker's topic in Volkswagen Polo Club
I would check for a vacuum leak as this could cause the symptoms you describe. Listen for any hissing under the bonnet -
Front coil spring
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to Andy filby's topic in New Members Welcome Lounge
Hi Andy Have a look at these springs on Euro Car Parts they all say with or without sports suspension (Sportline) so I would say that this is the only limiting factor to choosing a replacement unless you go for lowered springs. https://www.eurocarparts.com/coil-spring Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor -
Hi all - advice / suggestions needed
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to Lines's topic in New Members Welcome Lounge
Hi ....welcome to the Forum The only simple solution I can think of is Airbag suspension as a bolt on which would raise the vehicle and maintain the ride height Beyond that, sorry cannot think of any other way -
not sure....but one way to find out, fit it and see if the light goes out may need to clear any stored codes (if any)
-
All airbags can be fitted by yourself as long as the battery has been disconnected for around 30 minutes to allow any electrical charge to dissipate. The SRS system looks for a resistance when the ignition is switched back on and as long as it finds the correct resistance then it the light will go out and the system becomes active. I have never encountered any sort of coding required to fit replacement SRS components.
-
it will be plug an play, once you have reconnected the battery the system will recognise the correct resistance and accept it for use.

Hi....welcome to the Forum You could try a reputable company who sell secondhand squib rings that would be perfectly useable and safe to fit A few on eBay but which ones to trust, well not sure about that one

High clutch bite point
Volkswagen Owners Club replied to watchdog9019's topic in Volkswagen Passat Club
Hi Depends on the year and model of VW as some would have a self adjusting method for actuating the clutch.....it could be that which has altered over a period of time. Just watch the pedal doesn't drop to the floor which is also a common fault on some models
