  1. not sure....but one way to find out, fit it and see if the light goes out may need to clear any stored codes (if any)
  2. All airbags can be fitted by yourself as long as the battery has been disconnected for around 30 minutes to allow any electrical charge to dissipate. The SRS system looks for a resistance when the ignition is switched back on and as long as it finds the correct resistance then it the light will go out and the system becomes active. I have never encountered any sort of coding required to fit replacement SRS components.
  3. it will be plug an play, once you have reconnected the battery the system will recognise the correct resistance and accept it for use.
  4. Hi....welcome to the Forum You could try a reputable company who sell secondhand squib rings that would be perfectly useable and safe to fit A few on eBay but which ones to trust, well not sure about that one
  5. Cathy Feel free to post up some pics of the T4 and let us know how you get on with converting it to a camper
  6. Hi Depends on the year and model of VW as some would have a self adjusting method for actuating the clutch.....it could be that which has altered over a period of time. Just watch the pedal doesn't drop to the floor which is also a common fault on some models
  7. Hi Niall....welcome to the forum It suggests that there is an issue with the engine and its gone into Limp Home mode. I would scan any fault codes after clearing the memory to see if it is current or just a glitch. Let us know how it goes
  8. Hi Harry....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Post up a pic of the Polo when you get it
  9. Hi Cathy....welcome to the Club There are so many different type of van out there that look superb and are great driving vehicles. However, the T4 is not one that is up there at the top of the list, but saying that, they were always reliable compared to the later one
  10. Hi...welcome to the Forum Simple answer.....I'm not sure! What are the benefits of replacing the system?
  11. Seized linkage joints? Worn engine mounts? Play in linkages? Clutch worn or damaged? So many possible causes, I would drop it in a garage to have it checked out before you can't select gears anymore.
  12. Hi Brent.....welcome to the Forum definitely a VW man then ! Good to have you onboard
  13. Hi....welcome to the Forum The fact that it is 'on song' at higher revs suggests that it is something like a vacuum/air leak in the in the inlet manifold or associated trunking which is causing the lumpy running. A quick emissions test (Oxygen levels) which if higher than zero suggests thats the fault. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor
  14. Hi Dave If you list them in the appropriate section (e.g. Golf, Polo, etc) that would be the best bet Cheers
  15. Hi Edward....welcome to the Forum I would be surprised if you couldn't obtain a replacement glass through an automotive glasiers (windscreen company local to you). Maybe special order and could take some time to come through but not impossible to source Let us know what you find
  16. Hi Chris...welcome to the Forum Sorry for the late reply, missed this post. You could try to close off the 'Fresh Air' vents in the heating system to just allow cabin temperature to remain constant as opposed to outside air affecting the balance (e.g. cold outside + warmer inside = condensation) Let us know what you find works to resolve this Cheers, Trevor
  17. Hi Thanos...welcome to the Forum I suppose it is a case of taking what you're given in this case, although I would ask people to take off their shoes upon getting in :-)
  18. I would contact your local VAG dealer to find out....don't think its cheap though
  19. The service would be straight forward enough, nuts and bolts, however you would need special oils for the transmission and would need to look up any special information relating to replacing the fluids. Not sure that there are any special tools needed though Let us know how you get on with it
  20. Hi....welcome to the Forum I think you will need to bite the bullet and remove the manifold as they seem to build the engines that way now....more work but gives you a chance to clean up the manifold, throttle body and breather system as well.
  21. Hi....welcome to the Forum they are a pretty good car all round, mostly Golf chassis and mechanicals so going to be a reliable and economical Good to have you onboard
  22. I think it is quite common for the clutch pedal to creak in use but not sure about the whining noise though....keep an eye (or ear) on that one to hear if it gets any worse over time.
  23. Hi Mark....welcome to the Club That's the trouble with VWs...they're an addiction What Dub do you have?
  24. It would probably be best to Google the codes as there is a huge amount of information available on the internet and can be overwhelming sometimes. Also, be aware that there are historic faults and current faults so maybe worth clearing all codes from memory before carrying out a new scan to see which are currently an issue. Have fun !
  25. I take it the new one is all okay?
