  1. Hi....welcome to the Forum I cannot remember from memory whether this is the case but generally the signal generated by the ABS would be completely different to the earth switching from the pad wear sensor. I don't believe they would share the same wires so it would only probably share an outer sheath containing both wires
  2. So when you are finally released from lockdown and able to drive your car....what music will you play in the car?
  3. Hi....welcome to the forum There's nothing wrong with a convertible beetle, an iconic car restyled and improved over the years, whats not to love about them 🙂 What year is the Beetle? Could be a relay issue but without knowing more about the car its difficult to truly diagnose
  4. Glad you got there in the end, I must admit that I may have resorted to a hammer a lot sooner 🙂
  5. Hi...welcome to the Forum Sounds a bit odd to be a gearbox fault if the issue is with the clutch. Although it depends on what year the car is? If it is a late car with DSG transmission then it could well be a gearbox fault
  6. Okay, can see that now, definitely twist anticlockwise and pull back but may be stiff and bit of force required Let us know how it all goes and what you find to be the lighting fault
  7. Hi ....welcome to the Forum Thats an odd one as looking at a photo of the rear of the headlight I cannot see any directional markings on it (worth using a camera phone to take photo of rear of one in-situ before to confirm) but I do wonder if it just pulls off without twisting ? Let us know what you find
  8. Hi Stevie....welcome to the Forum Here is some info that I have found for this code: 01130 - ABS Operation 01130 - ABS Operation: Implausible Signal Possible Causes Fuse(s) faulty Modifications/Retrofits incompatible Wiring from/to Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) faulty Electrical Interference from External Sources High Frequency Radiation (e.g. non-insulated Ignition Cable) Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) faulty Possible Solutions Check Fuse(s) Check Vehicle for Modifications/Retrofits Temporarily remove Modifications/Retrofits (including Wiring) Check Wiring from/to Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) Check Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) Special Notes This Fault Code can only be cleared after performing a Test Drive above 20 km/h (13 mph). Also, have found other info which states that sometimes this code appears after heavy braking or rapid acceleration which could cause the wheels to spin or lock up. Either way, apparently it should clear out after a test drive above 13 mph which will give the system chance to evaluate the sensor readings. Also, check connections to the ABS pump assembly
  9. wow! that makes it very rare indeed
  10. The cap should open if you disable the central locking but if not possible by the key then insert the key into the drivers door lock to manually disable it.
  11. Hi welcome to the forum Try this site to see how many there are out there https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=volkswagen+golf&commit=Search
  12. Worth looking on this site to see how many others there are out there https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=volkswagen+golf&commit=Search
  13. That's good to know and thanks for letting us know the outcome
  14. I suggest a proper check of the electrical system to determine the current draw of various components to then isolate the suspected circuit to see if this resolves the issue
  15. Hi.....welcome to the Forum It sounds very much like you could have a very slight exhaust leak before or around the Cat. This is usually the reason for an O2 sensor to bounce off the limits....get someone to put a rag over the end of the exhaust and hear for any escaping air from the front of the exhaust to see if there are any leaks. Let us know what you find
  16. Hi Ian....welcome to the Forum It could be that a bulb has gone and it is using the next nearest (and most suitable) bulb as a substitute. Got caught out on this with an MG a few years ago and only on close examination I noticed that is was the bulb below (the brake light bulb) that was illuminating as a side light to remain road legal. It cunningly uses the CanBus network to throw a voltage elsewhere so you really need to carefully check and examine each bulb in the event of this occurring. In the case of the indicator though, check that the side repeaters are working okay as they are measured as part of the circuit Let us know how you get on with it
  17. Hi Ian. It seems that something that has been changed has either gone faulty or it is another fault to add to the list. It would be prudent to rescan the vehicle after clearing the fault code memory and also to measure components through a scan tool. e.g. if it has a spark and / or fuel injection is pulsing then it can't be a crank sensor issue. Let us know how its going
  18. Hi ..... welcome to the Forum Let us know when you get your t-roc and how you're getting on with it
  19. Hi Steve....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard
  20. Hi Steve Could you not connect a BT transmitter into the auxiliary to connect the phone to the existing unit? Loads on eBay but not sure of quality of them though
  21. I don't think that would be the case, I'm sure they would rather sell you a new car with new technology, much like mobile phones nowadays
  22. I wonder if the aerial amplifier is faulty, worth taking to an audio specialist who may have seen the issue before
  23. Hi.....welcome to the forum The VRS is a fine car and still within the VAG family so thats okay 🙂
  24. I believe it may have a clutch pedal adjustment ratchet mechanism (although not too sure it has it for hydraulic mechanisms) but worth sticking your head under the dash to see what's on the top of the pedal and if it needs manually resetting. If not, then air in the system is the only other thing I can think of
