  1. Hi Chris...welcome to the Forum Sorry for the late reply, missed this post. You could try to close off the 'Fresh Air' vents in the heating system to just allow cabin temperature to remain constant as opposed to outside air affecting the balance (e.g. cold outside + warmer inside = condensation) Let us know what you find works to resolve this Cheers, Trevor
  2. Hi Thanos...welcome to the Forum I suppose it is a case of taking what you're given in this case, although I would ask people to take off their shoes upon getting in :-)
  3. I would contact your local VAG dealer to find out....don't think its cheap though
  4. The service would be straight forward enough, nuts and bolts, however you would need special oils for the transmission and would need to look up any special information relating to replacing the fluids. Not sure that there are any special tools needed though Let us know how you get on with it
  5. Hi....welcome to the Forum I think you will need to bite the bullet and remove the manifold as they seem to build the engines that way now....more work but gives you a chance to clean up the manifold, throttle body and breather system as well.
  6. Hi....welcome to the Forum they are a pretty good car all round, mostly Golf chassis and mechanicals so going to be a reliable and economical Good to have you onboard
  7. I think it is quite common for the clutch pedal to creak in use but not sure about the whining noise though....keep an eye (or ear) on that one to hear if it gets any worse over time.
  8. Hi Mark....welcome to the Club That's the trouble with VWs...they're an addiction What Dub do you have?
  9. It would probably be best to Google the codes as there is a huge amount of information available on the internet and can be overwhelming sometimes. Also, be aware that there are historic faults and current faults so maybe worth clearing all codes from memory before carrying out a new scan to see which are currently an issue. Have fun !
  10. I had one a while back and for what it costs it was ideal for most reprogramming tasks....go for it, you can always sell it on if you don't use it enough
  11. Not sure with this one....in theory it should work although I would imagine it would have to be programme into the car...but worth giving it a try and if not, then sell the wheel back on as mostly they are quite desirable and plenty of people looking for them.
  12. Hi Tony....welcome to the Forums Strange one! Wonder if it could be wheel bearing or CV joint if only making noise when turning one particular direction. Let us know how it pans out Cheers, Trevor
  13. I think that will be all you need as long as it powers up then to programme it all in with VAGcom which shouldn't be too difficult
  14. Hi .....welcome to the Forum I would definitely say that if the loom is there with the plugs and they attach to the correct control units (not very likely) but it will almost definitely need programming into the car with VAGCom or similar equipment for the new electronics to be recognised by the vehicle. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor
  15. Hi Woody...welcome to the Forum It should be able to recode but you may need other components to match....key, etc. What are the symptoms of the fault you have? Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers, Trevor
  16. Hi Miles....welcome to the Forum Post up a piccy of your new Golf when you get it, if you want Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  17. Hi Gayath.....welcome to the Forum I have to agree with you on the technology front but not always with the parts quality (they could certainly invest more in better quality components - like in the olden days!) Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  18. Hi EFMax...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard I think it is a case of trying to find the best maintained car for your money. It may not always be the lowest mileage car and I think that it seems to be the case with most vehicles...if it has full dealer history then it should have had recalls and updates which will go a long way to ensuring the car has had the best start in life. Avoid 'school run' cars....found too many to be abused on the suspension, brakes and general wear & tear to the engine, transmission, body and interior. Good luck with your search and let us know how you get on Cheers, Trevor
  19. Hi Dan Most vehicles (if they have electric mirrors) would have the complete loom in place but not the switch gear to activate it....fitted as an option. However, you will more than likely need to code the new control panel into the CanBus system for to work. Let us know how you get on with it
  20. VW have had issues with leaking sunroofs in the past...primarily but not limited to the Golf range, so no reason not to imagine that it could be also on the Touran as well
  21. Hi JohnK..welcome to the forum Here is some info on the code: My first thoughts are using an additive to clean the induction system and combustion within the engine and an italian tune up to follow. Reason being, low speed cutting out with a pressure charged system fault being flagged up can indicate a build up of carbon and the engine falls over itself. It's too easy for the modern day engine to deliver chunks of power on demand but this is usually when at low revs and sometimes this can be the result. I would recommend the clean up first before committing big money to rectify further faults. By far the cheapest method to start with. Also running on Supermarket fuel is definitely not a good option (not making assumptions that you fo this though)
