  1. If its free for a month then at least it gives you a chance to evaluate it to see if it is worth continuing with in the future
  2. Sounds like you need someone who has VCDS or VagCom to recode the system Here is a link to an Audi Owners Club section and would be the same software/hardware that can recode https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/forum/106-vag-com-diagnostic-discussions/
  3. My first thought was not reindexing the handbrake motors with the correct scantool application. However, when you said you replaced the battery then that made more sense as to why the system was playing up
  4. Sounds like one of the vent flaps is stuck, may have to look under the dash to see if a linkage has dropped off or is seized
  5. Hi Rob.....welcome to the Club Good luck with the Polo I think you should have fun repairing it, nothing too complex on the older ones luckily. Feel free to dive into helping out with any posts that you feel comfortable answering Good to have you onboard!
  6. A short term fix would be to solder some wires from the good contact areas to bypass the corrosion, a bit of a bodge but if it works for the short term until you can find some replacements
  7. A few on here for sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=vw+sharan+owners+handbook&_sacat=131090&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=vw+sharan+workshop+manual&_osacat=131090
  8. I wouldn't worry too much at this stage but worth keeping an eye on over time. If the oil is leaking or even weeping from the dampers then you will have an issue then
  9. you can get a memory saver which will retain all the settings while you change the battery Some types have an internal battery rather than connecting leads to another battery, etcc https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313&_nkw=battery+memory+saver&_sacat=131090
  10. there's one or two in there for sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313&_nkw=vw+passat+2009+anti+roll+bar&_sacat=131090
  11. Usually when wiring is subjected to water ingress it can damage the wire and cause high resistance which could be the reason you have this issue. just cut back the wiring to a good point and put new in place, should cure the fault
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313&_nkw=vw+passat+2016+front+damper&_sacat=131090
  13. Have you tried some adhesive on the inside of the hose, has worked for me in the past
  14. As far as I remember that is the way to do it safely as takes the stress off the cambelt loosening and tightening the pulley bolt
  15. If the key is proving to be faulty then it is worth replacing but I would go to a specialist automotive locksmith who can programme the key to your car a lot cheaper than a garage, and especially a VW dealership
  16. Not sure but worth checking with your local dealership parts department as they would have images for both models and see if there is any difference in the general shape/size of the rear silencer
  17. I generally use my iPhone as a bluetooth connected device and stream music from YouTube (Premium so that you don't get the adverts) Works on most vehicles I have paired the phone with
  18. Hi Garry. Sorry to hear your sad news. Unfortunately, I do not know of any such club but it is worth asking the local VW dealership as they may some memory of one running out from there in the 70's or even posting on the local facebook groups in the hope that someone may remember this club? Regards, Trevor (admin)
  19. You should be able to set it up in the vehicle settings (see you handbook) If not, then the car has not been setup correctly for the UK roads and I would pop it back to your local dealer for them to have a quick look to see if they can make the setting correct
  20. If there is an imbalance and it disappears over a certain speed then it is a dynamic imbalance in the wheel/tyre and the wheel needs balancing Also, check the tyres are round (e.g. not oval, distorted or has a bulge on the tread area) seen loads like this and causes such an issue
  21. I would take it into the garage for a check over as could be dangerous if knocking (tapping is okay as suggests lighter metallic impact)
  22. Usually there is a plug there within the vicinity of where the lamps would fit
  23. Breakers yard would be the best place to start
  24. I know the inertia switch which trips in an accident can sometimes cause problems but think that only cuts the fuel Have you got fuel to the injectors?
  25. Hi Chris....welcome to the Club The tuneup will definitely help with the torque when towing a caravan as I'm sure you will have already noticed Good to have you onboard!
