  1. It looks like the vacuum hose from the Brake Exhauster which is driven from the engine. It would be quite vital to get this sorted as soon as possible. Looks like there are some other hoses that have some chaffing wear on them as well
  2. The window regulator is cheap to buy and relatively easy to fit if you have basic handtools List of parts on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1313&_nkw=volkswagen+golf+mk7+drivers+side+window+regulator&_sacat=131090
  3. I believe it is the turbo variable vanes which are stuck in place with carbon and needs cleaning. Here is a link to a cleaning kit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323958600044?hash=item4b6d6ff16c:g:basAAMXQfvlSg4~P
  4. not sure but not worth taking the chance it could well be the auxiliary drivebelt pulley but it sounded more metallic rather than a dry belt noise
  5. That doesn't sound good and i would take it back to the garage who changed the cambelt to check it out. Quite common for bolts to shear but this is not from overtightening just poor quality bolts used by VW
  6. may have to ship in from abroad but costs are sometimes cheaper but take into account duties and carriage though
  7. larger diameter wheels and lower profiles would give the car the stance and improved handling without compromising the suspension ride height too much
  8. Would ask your local dealer for their estimated timeframe....could be some time with the current world situation and semiconductor issues
  9. not sure it will but worth trying some parts up to your car to compare if you find someone that has some for sale and doesn't mind you doing this
  10. A VAG specialist garage may be able to programme in the firmware to make this function operational
  11. Hi, welcome to the Club The cambelt will need changing on both mileage and time so it will now be six years old so I would programme it in to be changed soon
  12. Hi....welcome to the Club! It will probably need the refill programming in if the content ran low. A local garage with a scanner should be able to do this at low cost
  13. Does it cut out when you start to drive? Installation looks fine, except for there looks like another dimple a few degrees to the left of the top mark which may be BTDC rather than TDC mark?
  14. I don't imagine it will as it was a software upgrade which affected performance but not Adblu delivery to the engine
  15. I use iCarSoft for this purpose so yes, it will do that and more
  16. Sounds like it needs the codes clearing and calibrating the steering control unit
  17. Are all three connections used? e.g. is there 3 connectors on the plug?
  18. Aftermarket bulbs such as Philips and Osram will improve the light output considerably. Halfords always have a good range of them in stock
  19. I guess as long as the fittings are there (e.g threaded bolt hole to screw the bracket to and there is a space in the seat for the bracket to be accessed
  20. Hi....welcome to the Club You will need to adhere to the exact specifications for engine oil for your Golf but doesn't matter who produces it as long as it is good quality. Here is a useful site which gives the specs for the oil you need for your car https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/motor-oil-and-fluids-finder.html?customerType=retail
  21. Not sure which pins you want to bridge but may be worth a try. Alternatively it may be worth fixing the fault if the car is worth spending on it?
  22. It may be worth spending the money (if fairly reasonable) to rectify the issue but it may just be a matter of time before the problem comes back if the engine doesn't get a proper run
  23. I have twisted the lead going to the connection so that when it is on the coil the terminals are biased to the side slightly which I find makes a better connection
  24. Hi MIke I do wonder if the fault started after the screen was fitted then quite possibly it needs calibrating to work correctly
  25. VW may have a harness listed for aftermarket adaptions, but sometimes the wires are not used and some you need to swap around (red and blue I believe to retain the memory)
